Dining changes once on board

Is it too much to ask for a table of 2 and a different dining rotation once on board? We always have to request the table for 2 because it has only been honored once in advance. We have late dining so I don't see this being an issue.

I would like to also ask for a dining rotation depending on what we are assigned. Is that too greedy?

You could always call/email them and ask what the rotations are, then request a specific one. Provided they were able to do that, once you get onboard, you only have to worry about the table for 2.

Main sitting maybe hard, as very popular, Late sitting may be ok, as less popular.

First, put your requests in before you get on board - it is easier to honor them before they have all the tables already assigned. (Just make sure they might not be conflicting requests; they don't do well if you tell them your first choice is "this" but will also settle for "that".) I have found that the res agents tend not to put the dining requests in the right spot so that may be why your requests haven't been honored in the past. (We would be lectured for not noting allergies that we had called in to note, so we e-mail now.)

But once you are on board, check to see what you got and if it isn't exactly what you want, ask. If they have the ability to put you at a table for 2 in more than one of the rotations, wouldn't it be great that it is the one you want. They can't make it happen if you just tell them one of your requirements. So no, I don't think it is "greedy" to ask for more than one thing.

When you are on board, they can let you know what they can do for you. They might say you can have the rotation but need to be at a larger table or you can get a table for 2 if you are on X rotation. Then you can decide which is more important to you.

Thanks everyone! I was just feeling bad. We are already in late seating so hoping that has more flexibility.

What are the rotations for the 5 night Dream? We basically are looking to go to AP as few times as possible.

Then I would just say “The rotation that only goes to Animator’s Palate once.” That’s easier than trying to figure out the rotations and hoping they don’t change them.

And I’ve found that using a negative in a request almost always ends up that you get what you did not want because it is too easy for them to overlook the “not”.

I wouldn't feel bad about requesting a table of 2. This past cruise we had people who didn't speak English well - they requested a table of 2 as they felt left out. Totally understandable. We've also requested to move tables as we had friends at another table.

I either request via concierge or direct if not concierge for our own table.

We are on vacation and its family time, not unsociable, but it's our holiday. So you are correct.

I disagree with thoose who say DCL are good st matching people up, they do not do that, they fit party size to availability. However with younger families typically on Main, and Adults only on late, the process filters people a bit.

Issues are when joining others, if your a " on time" person, and they are a " 15 minutes late" group, it really messes up dinner service.

If you have wine or say a wine package, and they do not, it can cause issues.

If you want to get down and eat quickly and they want to chat and take their time.

Now none of these are wrong or right, just different types of people put together.
