Hi Everyone,

My 21 year old niece was recently diagnosed with Celiac Disease and we are leaving for Disney next week. I am trying my hardest to learn all I can about this and ways to help her make good food choices when we are at WDW.

Can anyone share experiences and places where you had the easiest time finding enough on the menus to eat?

I would REALLY appreciate any help you can give.

Thanks so much,

Linda

If you have made ADRs, you need to call and have the celiac listed on the reservation, the chef will then come out and talk with you about what is safe to eat. There is a sticky on this page, if you look under food allergies, there is an email address for Special diets at disney world, they will email a list to you about sage options available in the parks. We are planning on taking my niece who also has celiac in August, they have been really good about emailing pretty quickly with information. Good luck!!!!:goodvibes
Email address is specialdiets@disneyworld.com

It's very easy to eat with celiac's at Disney.

If you can add the info ahead of time - if not just let them know when you arrive at the restaurant and they will still speak to you.

Occasionally they are able to do "special" things with advance notice - by thatI mean have a product available that they don't ordinarily have but regardless they will have choices for her.

You will be fine and have lots of choices. DD also has this issue and we've had several trips with no problems. At counter serve restaurants they have a book that outline ingredients. Just ask for it right away (for a manager) while the rest of your party decides what to order. Don't wait till you get to the front of the line-sometimes the GF items take longer to prepare. For snacks most places have GF brownies.
Everyone has always been very helpful and at the table serve restaurants the chefs bend over backwards to please.

Hi and :welcome: to disABILITIES!

If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Start with Post #3 and scroll down to the area about Dietary Restrictions.

Or, if you want an easier route to the FAQs, click on the link in my signature.
