We are interested in eating at these two places when we are there the end of March/beginning of April. Are reservations needed like at WDW? We have never been to Universal so we are a little green. Thanks in advance.

We have 3 young kids, so do you think these restaurants will be ok?

If your kids like nachos, hamburgers, etc. then they would like margaritaville. If the kids like noisy stuff, then both restaurants are good for it. Nascar has better food I think. :Pinkbounc pirate: :moped: :woohoo: :hourglass :bounce: :clown: :firefight

We love Margaritaville. They have great hamburgers served with HOT fries (how often do you get HOT fries at a restaurant), On one night they had guys walking around on stilts making balloon animals and hats.
We tried Nascar on the last time there. Never again, the food was cold and the server was horrible. When food takes a long time coming out I don't blame the server. We placed our order all at once. After 15 mins she finally brought the cokes but not my drink, Appy never came, the entrees came, when she came to check on us we told her to forget the appy. She said I forgot to put it in, this is when I asked about my drink and again, she forgot. After asking another server to tell her I was still waiting on my drink it took another 10 mins to get it (it became my dessert beverage, good thing we asked the person bring out the food for a glass of water). The manager never came out to apologize. I'm in the business and thats just unacceptable. When anything is forgotten or made incorrectly a manager should always make an appearance (lets the customer know they care). Margaritaville and Hard Rock Cafe are our must do's.

My kids were 10, 5, and 2.5 when we went to Margaritaville & they loved it. They got a kick out of the Margarita Volcano that went off periodically during our meal. They also gave parrot masks with the kids menus, which kept the two little ones occupied. My DH is a HUGE Jimmy Buffet fan so it was a given we would go there.

We went for an early lunch; 11:30, so we did not need rsvns. Not sure if they take them or how that works. BUT, I highly recommend it. The food and service were GREAT.

we're not fans of the nascar cafe'. margaritaville is very good. either way you choose, get a PS from the kiosk when you enter citywalk so you know you won't have to wait if you're going for dinner. lunch won't be a problem. margaritaville also has covered outdoor dining on the porch of indecision that doesn't take PS's.

Skip Nascar worst meal I've ever had. Margaritaville is great though.

We love Margarittaville in New Orleans. My DD5 loves to look around at all the stuff they have on the wall.

The coconut shrimp is to die for!!!! They put a cute little compass in your drink (adult beverage), I guess so you can find your way home! LOL

My vote is Margarittaville.

I've been told seven times a day. there are definate cues to when it is coming in the videos. it starts in the middle of the video 'volcano' (go figure). after it erupts, jimmy yells 'it looks like we made it to margaritaville!" and that song starts, the restaurant goes crazy. dear god, I spend too much time in this place. :)

We went to Margaritaville last March (spring break) and our kids & my two nieces (8,7,5,4) absolutely loved it. Definitely worth it. There is a kids menu and smoothie drinks for them. You'll see Jimmy Buffett sing his Volcano song, which is when the volcano in the restaurant will start to erupt. We were there for about an hour and a half and were able to see it erupt. I'm sure it's timed so that every customer sees it erupt atleast once. You can make reservations 30 days in advance. Go to margaritaville.com for the phone number. We will be dining there again in June. The kids can't wait.

Like the other posters stated, its timed. I thought we saw it twice during our lunch, but it may have only been once. Either way .... my kids thought it was great. They thought it was the Slime from Nick's Slime Time Live :)

We'll be back on our next visit !!
