What are the best places to eat at Harry Potter World? Which places require reservations and how do you make them? By calling Universal? Thanks so much in advance!

I had supperat the leaky cauldron on 12/20. We didn't need reservations (not sure if they do reservations). They direct you to a cashier, you order, they give you a candlestick with a number, then they have a hostess stand and they seat you and food gets brought out. We ordered the Ploughmans and the mini pie plate and shared it all. Very tasty!

I think technically breakfast at both the Three Broomsticks and the Leaky Cauldron are Reservation. But, reservations are only taken for people who book a special HP package. Otherwise, everywhere in WWOHP is counter service with no reservation required. Even at breakfast, walk up are accepted most days.

Unlike Disney, even the table service restaurants in general don't require massive amounts of advanced planning. If you're traveling during extremely busy times you may want to book a couple of days in advance. For example, Mythos at IOA seems to be booked up for tomorrow but you can get a table for the 28th. But Finnegan's at USF has tables for tomorrow. Emeril's has lunch but no Dinner.

Johde, you made me remember breakfast! That's probably because we weren't very impressed with it. And in case you didn't know (we didn't) black pudding is actually a form of blood sausage. Thank goodness we googled it before we even tasted it! We had the breakfasts as part of our package and even though we had to make reservations, they weren't even looking at them. It was just like that ticket was a pay card or voucher. They weren't checking reservations or anything when we went in. It was run just like the dinner service.

So...it looks like the dining options are The Three Broomsticks, The Leaky Cauldron and Hogsmeads Pub. Are those the only ones? If you had to pick two based on the food and the "overall Harry Potter experience" , which would it be? Thanks!

Both of them are Counter service dining. They do do ressies for breakfast for pkg holders, but they aren't necessary.

Total atmosphere with shadows of figures upstairs and lots to enjoy. Leaky Cauldron seemed very plain in comparison. The pub is actually part of the Three Broomsticks.

I prefer the non-breakfast food at Leaky Cauldron over Three Broomsticks. Breakfast food is pretty much the same at both. My Ploughman's Platter was absolutely delicious.

We ate lunch at the Leaky Cauldron on the 23rd and it was packed in Diagon Alley but it didn't take long at all to order and they found us a table for 10 of us right away and food came out quickly. We enjoyed the food and the atmosphere very much. We really didn't wait but a couple minutes to order.

Hogshead Pub doesn't serve food, it's just a bar that's attached to The Three Broomsticks.

I prefer the food at Leaky Cauldron, but I love the interior of The Three Broomsticks. Either way you decide, it's worth just going inside both.
