Dining and app help

Hi we are visiting in October and our 180 days booking slots are just opening up!
There are 3 small children in our party so we are not booking loads of set meals in as not sure how they will be!
I will book a table at rainforest cafe for after animal Kingdom and wanted to do the disney junior lunch at studios but will hopefully manage reservations at these? Or do they fill up quick?

The only one I wahted was cinderella royal table but on phoning the dining line this morning I was (quite rudely) told that it would be virtually impossible for me to get a table as there are 12 in our party and the resort guests get 10 days priority so I'm always going to be playing catch up with places!!

I did manage to go online and book breakfast at akershus banquet hall for 8.00am through the my magic app!!
Do you think this is a good alternative? To be fair my twin girls will be weeks off turning 3 so not sure they'd be interested in the setting- just the princesses??

When I booked on the app I just booked for 12 under my name. But it never asked how many were adults/children etc? Do I not need to do this?
Also there are 3 under threes? They're included in the 12 but I'm sure I read they dine for free? Do I just tell them when we arrive for reservation?
It's showing in my app as booked but I'm just panicking that I need to do something else to secure booking?

also be aware that CRT is a prepay meal. You'd be charged for the full amount of your booking, so I guess Akershus is a good option

Disney Junior play and dine is nice, but it's popular. Book as soon as your window opens (11am online, noon by phone)
Lunch can be booked as a fantasmic! dining package. Dinner doesn't have characters.

basically, you're booking seats at a table. The restaurant needs to know how many people will sit at a table. Who's paying and who's not is a thing the waiter will take care of.

Your "almost" 3 years old will not dine for free. They'll be allowed to share from your plate but will not get their own plate at the restaurant unless you pay for a sides/appetizer or entrée, or share with them from your plate
only way to have them dine for free is at a buffet where you always can grab a plate for them.
If you do CRT it would be sharing, or buying meals for them, but they won't get their own meal for free.

your credit card guarantee does secure your booking

Is akershus a buffet?
I have a 5 and 6 year old too who will have plates so the 2 year olds can share there's, or just eat off my plate!

Although I did do crt a few years ago and I'm sure my 2 year old had his own plate and food??

So you just tell them when you book in how many under 3's there are??

Do you have free dining? If so I advise you make some more ADRs because it will be difficult to eat where you want when you get there. If you're paying out of pocket then that's different. With little ones booking lunch or a late breakfast is better from my experience as you can then do an afternoon nap and play the evening more by ear.

No we don't have free dining as staying in a villa at Kissimmee!!

Any fixed price meals your under 3s will be free and can have a plate.

Akerhus is a fixed price as are CRT and H&V (Disney junior).

Rainforest cafe you will have to pay for anything they eat.
