Dining alone?

We are really looking forward to the cruise next month, but with our 13yo likely not spending dinner time with us, the two of us are not looking forward to sitting at a large table with other families with kids, where we have nothing in common. Plus, it will be a nice vacation for us. Is it difficult to get a table for two for dinners?

You can request it, but the number of small tables is limited so it won't be guaranteed. But be sure to book Palo, as you will definitely be seated by yourselves there and the food is fantastic.

How many does a table hold? We are a family of 5, would we be sitting with others' or have our own table?
TIA

Tia,
We had five or six depending if DD's friend (working crewmember) was able to join us in our party last May and had a table with just us.

The next time we cruise, DH and I are looking forward to sitting with others so we can get acquainted with some new folks.

One thing several folks have done is visit the Cruise Meet thread for their cruise and develop friendships before the cruise that they link their ressies to so they can sit together.

I've checked over there, only 2 of us so far on the Jan 8th 2006 :(
Hopefully more will come along!!!

we were a party of five and were table with another party of five with kids similar in age. We actually got along great and had similar tastes in food, etc. Our last night on the cruise our servers were shocked when we all skipped the fancy appetizers and asked for tons of fried cheese sticks off the kids menu....we had all had a little bit too much fancy food by that time and needed a break! :flower:

The tables basically all seat 4...but are pushed together to seat multiples of 4 (4, 8,12 & 16).
I don't recall any tables for 2.

I think you might have a better chance of a table for 4 with just two of you at it at late seating.

Well, we could ask for a table for three I suppose, on the off-chance that dd joins us. But, my question still stands: who or where do I ask for this type of table?
