I have a couple of questions to help us with our October trip.

We fly out (TCD) on the 14th, the day after our youngest daughters 6th birthday and have promised her a party at WDW.

We are thinking of booking the princess meal (the one with lots of princesses) but I believe you have to book this in advance.

Also are Disney strict on it being your actual birthday for it to be a birthday party, , as we were thinking of doing this on the Monday, which is 3 days after her birthday?

Does anyone have the number to call and can we book now for October.

Also, we are going to book for the Halloween evening event. We were thinking about the 26th. Is Thursday a good day? Do I book this at the same time as the princess party.

Also, I have read about a backstage family trip which involves a treasure hunt around magic kingdom, which my kids would love. Has anyone had any recent experience. The one I read finished with Peter Pan.

If anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi

Yes you do have to book for meals.

You can book 180 in advance if you are off site or 190 days if you stay on site.

The number for Walt Disney Dinning is 001 407 93 3463.

For the princessess meal, you needed to book at 12.00pm on the dot 180 before you want to eat, as it is very popular, so it may already be fully booked.

You should keep trying though as they do get cancellations, right up until the day you want to visit.

If you explain to the Cast Member that the meal is for your daughters belated birthday, I am sure that they will do something better.

There are lots of other lovely character meals, that your daughter will like beside the princesses, if you can't get a reservation.

For Halloween, Thursday are usually good days to go. We are going on a Tuesday.

I have no experience of the last part of your question, but someone will be along soon. Don't forget to book an alternative for Character dinning, as they do get booked up, and it will be busy when you are going to WDW, due to the halloween events and the food and wine festival at Epcot.

We've just done the CRT. We booked the full 180 days in advance. People were being turned away at the door as they thought they could just walk in. They were told the the Breakfast and the Lunch were fully booked for 6 months. However you could still get the dinner, but there was a waiting list for 3 weeks on that. The reason for the dinner not being as popular is that Cinderella is not there. :confused3

Are you aware that there is more than one Princess meal?

We have done the breakfast at CRT in the castle in MK before, so this year we will be doing the Princess Storybook Lunch in Norway at Epcot (they also do breakfast and dinner there, too! :thumbsup2 ) and Cinderella's Gala Feast at the Grand Floridian Hotel which is near MK.

The first two I have mentioned have approx. 5 princesses each and the Gala Feast has Cinderella, Prince Charming, Suzy and Perla (two mice from the movie) and usually the Fairy Godmother. ;)

I see that you will actually be at WDW the same time as us this year - I have already booked our tickets for MNSSHP for the 26th! :teeth: We've been before a few years back but on Halloween night, which although busy was not unbearably crowded! Hopefully Thursday night will be a good night to go! :teeth:

We've also booked the Family Magic Tour for this trip (20th) but have never done it before. Our DD will be 5 by the time we go in October and I haven't told her about it - I'm sure she'll love it though! :goodvibes

I'm now thinking that we will not get CRT reservations so I'm thinking about the party in the Norway pavillion at lunchtime, rather than breakfast?

Has anyone had any experience of this and which characters were there?

I'm trying to get as much information before I call the US tomorrow and end up booking something unsuitable

I'm sure your DD would love the meal at Akershus (in Epcot's Norway) just as much :)

Don't forget to get your DD a "birthday badge" (free!) from Guest Services at any theme park - and it won't matter if you book the "birthday meal" on a day that is not her birthday :)

I called Disney last week, and have managed to book the CRT for luchtime on the Monday, 16th October. I hadn't expected to get this but I guess we were just lucky,

Does anyone know what happens during this meal.

We have also book the Haloween party for the 26th and the Family Magic Tour on teh 27th, although we may change the family tour date as the night before will be a late on for our kids.

Does anyone know if there are any American holidays during the 14-28th October?

Thanks for all your helps

Well excited
Stephen

Congratulations on getting CRT! I am sure your daughter will love it! :thumbsup2

Although we did CRT breakfast before the changes, I believe you will have a photo taken with Cinderella upon entering and this will be delivered during your meal. Other princesses will visit your table for photos, autographs and for a quick chat. :goodvibes

Remember to mention that you are celebrating DD's birthday when you check in at the restaurant and tell your server, too! ;)

We'll be MNSSHP the same night (26th.) I am still trying to figure out who to "be" for the night! :rotfl:
