Dings for mid-late Dec.

I am so glad that SW is finally booking till the end of the year. We are needing to fly out Dec. 16th and back on the 23rd and am wondering if anyone knows when the dings were first released for that time of year last year. I think I bought our Nov. tickets in Sept. last year through ding. I would just love having a sale for Orlando for my dates of $49 each way on the regular site like they have now- except for the dates arent that far yet. Oh the agony of waiting for my dates!! Any thoughts on when they will release the Dec. dings????!!!!!

They just started releasing DINGS for October. I'd say you'll have to wait about two months for December DINGs (unless the price of gas stabilizes).

Keep an eye on your flights. Your dates may be popular flying times and may sell out before they "ding". The 23rd is a popular time since people want to get places for the holidays. I was hoping for a ding for our October trip but I need to come home on a Sunday and most of the flights are booking or are booked. I got a ding for our Sept 27th flight there but went ahead and booked the Oct flight on a Sunday at the internet fare which is showing as not available now. I booked 2 one way flights so I can change it to a better rate if it becomes available.

I suggest doing your trip as 2 one ways so if you get a ding for the 16th, great. But I wouldn't hold my breath for one for the 23rd.

My TA called this morning and told me she didn't think I should wait for the return flight on the 23rd. They were getting full. I panicked and booked the tickets at a higher fare than I usually pay but oh well, it's a lock now. I'd be scared to wait for dings for that 23rd flight. I was trying to wait for a sale, not the dings, but after speaking to the agent, thought better of it. Good luck!

I can only speak for November but alot of the travel prices were already blacked out when we booked our flights. I paid a higher price than I would like as well but decided to book it anyway. Last year the same thing happened and I ended up getting a ding flight down but could not get it for the return home which was the Monday after Thanksgiving. IT ended up costing us 200.00 PP which I thought was ok,especially for a holiday. So ,it was a good idea to book the flight just to have it but keep checking for the Dings! GOod Luck!

I too was wondering about Dec. dings. I couldn't decide if I should wait it out. Got impatient and booked a few days ago $79 plus tax non stop. Purchased 6 tickets. Hoping for a credit, but not holding my breath.
Our dates are the 17th thru the 22nd.
