What is DING? I have seen it on several posts and it appears to be some type of special code but I have no idea what it means or what it is for. Can someone tell me? I am sorry if this is a dumb question or there is some really obvious answer. I even cheked the abbreviations board and did not see it listed.
THANK YOU SO MUCH! :confused3

I believe it is a program that you can download to your computer. It is available from the Southwest Airlines website. It alerts you when the airline is establishes low price airfares. I'm not real familiar with it but I will probably download it myself. :goodvibes

That is exactly what it is. I just downloaded it last week. It seems to "Ding" you every day, you get a little icon to click when there is a special there. The specials are usually only good until the end of the day that you receive the "Ding", so you have to act fast.

I got a great rate today from PHL to MCO!

Thank you MarcyinPA (I am looking for PHL to MCO too), thank you Tiger by The Tail also for answering me. :grouphug:
I am so addicted to these boards since my first trip (may 2005), trying to read everything I can to start planning my next one!

I stumbled unto the boards during April 2005 and have been addicted ever since :teeth:

We were also there during May and can hardly wait until our next visit!!! I think the next excursion may be the cruise!!

Although I too am addicted to the DIS my Ding addiction is getting worse. I've booked trips from MHT to PHL for $63. Mht to BWI for $67. PVD to PHL for $63 and PVD to BWI for $67. I take weekend trips constantly because I can't resist a bargain. It turns out cheaper to go see the Sox on the road than at Fenway. Ding can get out of hand.
