i just got my first Official DING!!...I couldn't use any of the SW specials...but I got it!!!

I got my DING, too! I couldn't use anything this time around, either. It was fun when that DING came! I wonder if the DING will come this time of day from now on? I just happen to be online because school was canceled today and I didn't have to teach.

It is a new Southwest program you download and it DINGS (Like the sound in the TV ad) when they have new specials starting...

How long was the time limit on the offer? And, out of curiousity, how good was the offer? Just wondering if Dings will be substantially better than trad'l low internet rates.

I enrolled yesterday, the two DINGs (so far) have come in early in the day(not sure exactly when, maybe around noon EST?) & only last for a couple of hours. The prices have been better than what is generally listed on SW's website, but availability is not always a given for wanted travel dates.

Ok, I have ding on my home computer, but not at work. I got home tonight and the offers expired at 5pm CST. So, looks like the ding offers will be daytime only? Also, when I clicked on the ding offer, it listed great deals from at least 20 or more airports. Did everyone get all these offers? Or just their hometown?

When anyone clicks on the DING!/SWA icon, bringing up the mini-screen & then getting to the main DING! specials, I think all of us end up at the same exact webpage. So far it looks like every DING!-subscriber will have access to all the specials. I'm not sure why SWA needs the home airport and home zipcode...maybe if enough BWI users sign on and the fares haven't been selling that well from that particular airport, then SWA will put out some really *GREAT* specials from BWI to MCO.

The DING! specials have run from about 12noon to 4 or 5pm CST. If I were you & you are allowed, I would see if you can install DING! somewhere that you can access it during business hours. Of course, SWA might change all this...it's only been running DING! two days.

Thanx for the info. I went to SW site and read about "Ding". I fly Song and Jetblue. I may just try SW next trip.

When I spoke with a SW rep yesterday she said DING fares can come to your computer any time of the day or night.

We had an opportunity for a good fare in and out of Tampa yesterday but it expired before we could get it booked. Hoping for something great into Orlando!
