DING software question

I installed it yesterday. Went smoothly. I have it set for audible notifications. I have the DING symbol in my system tray.

So, I'm assuming when there is a DING fare....that I'll hear a ding sound? I haven't heard one yet. Perhaps I wasn't in the room.

Does the application need to be open all the time (appearing in task bar but behind current window)? Assuming I can minimize it?

But can I X it closed & just leave it in the system tray for it to be working? (That's how I have it now.)

What happens if I don't hear the ding, is there another way for me to know there is a DING fare available?

You will hear a Ding!. There hasn't been any posted since about 10 am yesterday. If you don't hear the Ding! (if you aren't in the room) You will see an envelope on the Ding! icon in your system tray. The envelope will appear there until you open the Ding! window or the fares expire, whichever comes first.
Yes, you can close it. It doesn't have to be open (on the taskbar) for it to Ding!
