DING question....

i booked airfare last week for our family of 5 from BUF to MCO. got a pretty good internet rate. today, i got my first ding...and i see they have a great rate of $64 one way..which is a better price than i paid. is it possible to switch ressies? how does it work with airfare? am i stuck?

You can change your reservation. Open up the DING window and put in the info you want, open up another window to cancel your ressie. Once you cancel your ressie, you have your confirmation number where your funds are being held with SW. Then continue on with the new ressie you want. You will then get your credit with southwest which will have to be used up within 6 months.

You can switch to the lower fare ( I hope it is still available for you). 99% of the time you get a credit to use towards future flights, within 1 year. Some Dis'ers have gotten refunds. I just use the credit. It is my own little excuse to travel more often.
You will have to book the Ding! fare to the page where you make payment. Then bring up another window to cancel your previous fare. You then can used the TTF (ticketless travel funds) to immediately pay for the new fare, with change to spare.

thanks for the replies everyone! the time frame we wanted is gone already!! this is my first experience using DING...i gotta get a bit faster i guess!!! LOL! anyways, thanks for letting me know. i'll be keeping an eye out for good rates!

you can download ding from southwest website. it alerts you to specials when they become available from your preferred airports. you can find some really great deals this way. i've heard of it before, but never bothered to download it. i finally did download it last week, and i've seen some great rates come thru. today there was a great one from buffalo to orlando for only $64!!! one way!
