I have searched in vain to find the answer to the following problem I am having.
When I try to install DING on my laptop it will not work. The screen the normally would pop up to let me know I have a DING keeps popping up and asking me to pick my airport and register. After clicking my airport choices it then tells me to update my registration by clicking on "update registration". When I click that I get- Unable to connect to Southwest.com.

I have tried reinstalling it over and over and I have held down the control button while I try to connect- thinking it may be a pop up related problem. Nothing works. If I click on any other thing in the pop up window for Ding such as Southwest.com and such it links me to it.

I have gone to the site and registered too but I keep getting the same message from DING.

Anyone know what to do?

Assuming you are using Internet Explorer, try this:

1. Go to start.....Control Panel.....Internet Options
2. Clear cache by clicking the 'Delete Files' icon once, then click OK on the pop-up above. The mouse pointer will turn into an hourglass and then back to a mouse pointer when it's finished.
3. Click the 'Security' tab. Make sure the setting is set to "medium". If it's at 'Custom' click the button labeled 'Default Level'...click Apply
4. Click the 'Advanced' tab. Above the 'OK' and 'Cancel' buttons is a "restore defaults' button...click it and then click 'Apply'
5. Click OK and close the box.

You will then need to close all windows. Once closed you can open a new browser and try installing it from there. Let me know how it goes.

Sorry to say it did not work. I tried all of you said and it still did not work. After reinstalling I still keep getting the DING message that tells me to pick my airports and then when I click update registration it won't let me.

Thanks so much for trying!

The OP also needs to go to the control panel to add/remove programs and delete the current version of DING.

I did uninstall the DING program prior to trying to fix the problem going through the control panel.

Thanks :goodvibes

I just can't figure this out?!

Have you enabled the java stuff and active x stuff? AT the top of IE there is a tab marked tools, click on that, go to internet settings, open that, then go to security and then custom levels. Look for the java and active x "stuff", enable those. Then try again. Also, SWA does have a tech number you can call if all this fails.
Good luck, I can image you are pretty frustrated at this time.

Went through and enabled all the active and java. Still does not work! Guess I'll have to call. Just seems like there must be a simple answer. I never had a problem installing it on our other computers. They use the same internet. :confused3

Just confusing because it will allow me to link through the DING but just won't allow me to update registration.

Weird.............Thanks for the help! :goodvibes

OMG!!!! I just figured out the solution to my DING problem and do I feel STUPID!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If you look at the DING box when it pops up and asks you to register you'll notice inside the lighter shaded area there is a scroll bar. I never noticed it before. If you scroll down it has a place to enter your zip code and rapid rewards number. There is a button that says register below that.

OMG- I feel stupid- DUH!!??!?!??! :rolleyes1
