OK - I need some honest opinions. Don't worry about hurting my pride or offending me, that's pretty hard to do
Here's my situation. I have never had a scale in my house - until yesterday when I was the receipent of a Healthometer Professional (had been used at our church for WeighDown Workshop, sat in the library for over two years and since i'm cleaning out the library I got it) So, I brought it home last night, found it a place in the basement, no carpet and not to handy to become obsessive. It's the dial type, big dial with a knob to turn to set it on zero. I set it on zero and put a 5 lb bag of sugar on it, readout: 5 lbs. So I stepped on it last night and it weighed me 1.5 lbs less then the Y had that morning!
After my jog today (yes I sweated some out) I tried it again and it said 3.5 lbs less than the Y the previous morning. Ironically this is what Mom's scale said to me just Monday morning.
Now I know that the variables aren't identical - i.e. when I weigh at the Y, I have eaten breakfast and it's later in the morning during which I have consumed some water in prep for working out. BUT, I'd like to use this scale here for WI as it's much more convenient and I can WI on the same day every week instead of according to my schedule.
Thing is I feel like I'm cheating to just accept the readout of the new scale. It puts me at mini-goal for July 4, but it feel like dirty money
I feel this is more about poundage lost, not final weight, so I'm not comfortable claiming those 3 lbs as lost weight. So, how can I transition over to my new scale and not cheat my integrity to myself and feel good about my claims?

REALLY!!! Stick with this scale from now on, don't weigh in at the Y anymore.
