We will be arriving at Port Orleans this Saturday (yay)!!! We will be at DHS on Tuesday, July 9th. There will be 9 of us: me, dh, 11 yo dd, 15 yo ds, my parents, my brother, his wife, and their almost 2 year old ds. Right now we have fast passes for TOT from 9:40-10:40 for 5 of us, RNRC from 11:05-12:05 for 4 of us, B&TB show for the others at around the same time, TSM for 2 (plus toddler) from 7:20-8:20 while the others have SDD at the same time. We also want to do Fantasmic that evening.

Here's my dilemma... I plan on trying to move our TSM/SDD fastpasses to earlier in the day if at all possible. I've been trying for awhile now with no luck. We are also considering getting to the park by 8:00 so we can rope drop SDD and TSM. We really want to be able to get a FP for Fantasmic for that evening, just in case it rains.

Are we crazy for considering rope dropping TSM and SDD? Should we keep our FP and probably not be able to get a Fantasmic FP later on? I don't know what to do!

I'd keep trying to change your FP+ in hopes for the best. If you can't get an earlier time I'd just use the one you have. I've read that the rope drop frenzy for SDD is crazy, so I'd avoid that at all costs, especially pushing a 2yo in a stroller. That's just my opinion though.

Keep trying for an earlier FP time. This late, its unlikely, but can happen. Keep checking the day of.
For RD, you will want to be at the tapstyles at least an hour before.
It has become crazy and crowded at RD. I would not want to do that with a 2 year old or try and keep 9 people together in that crowd.
You might be better off trying closer to close as the crowds are less then.

If I were you I would keep what you have and keep checking for FP+ and avoid TSL RD. We always rope drop but IMO rope dropping TSL is horrible especially with kids. I find that the way the cast members direct/funnel foot traffic to be very constricting and therefore extremely unpleasant when people run/push/shove. I'd keep what you have and not get a FP+ for Fantastic. We never use our FP on that show since if you get there early enough, seating is fine.

I guess we will stick with using our FP. We are still going to TSM first thing, but we can stay back from the crazy crowd going to SDD. We can definitely get to Fantasmic early enough to get a good seat. Two years ago when we went we had a FP for Fantasmic and it was cancelled due to a storm. We were pleasantly surprised the next morning with anytime FP. I was hoping to get that again as a possibility.
