Dilemea With Friends

I Am Part Of A Group Of Friends All Married/living Together With Kids. We All Talk To Each On A Private Matters That We Dont Share With The Others. If To Get What I Mean.

Now In Our Group There Are Two Pairs Of Sisters. Myself And Mine Nat And Another Set Tess And Kate. Now This Might Sound Bad But What Ever We All Talk About Me And My Sister Always Share And Talk About.

So..... Kate Is Living In Her Sisters Tess 3 Bedroom Rented Council Accomodation As Tess Has Moved In With New Husband. She Has Been Living In This House For Over 2 Years As She Is Unable To Get Council Accomdation Other Than I Little Flat. Last Year Kate Got Into Trouble With Rent And Council Tax Bills (which Are Still In Tess Name) Tess Found Out And Wasnt Happy. My Sister Nat Helped Her Sort These Out And Told Her She Needed To Pay A Set Amount Per Month On Rent To Cover 5 Week Months Over The Year (£279). Tess Told Kate That She Needed To Keep A Perfect Rent Account As They Was Looking At Getting Morgage In Near Furture. Well This Time As Come. Tess Has Just Appiled For Rent Statements For The Last Twelve Months. And Guess What She Has Been In Arrears For Last Twelve Months. Tess And Myself Have Been Talking About It And She Has Approached Her Sister Kate About It,and She Has Said That My Sister Nat Told Her To Pay £240 Per Month. Now I Know This Is A Lie Cause Nat Told Me All About The Convo She Had With Her. Kate Has Also Said That She Never Uses The Rent Card As She Just Pays Cash So She Didnt Know She Was In Arrears.

She Has Just Made My Sister Look Really Bad To Our Friend. I Feel So Angry... And To Top Things Of. My Sister And Kate Havnt Really Been Getting On Lately. So I Know That If This Is Mentioned Then It Isnt Gonna Be Nice.

I Want To Keep My Mouth Shut But Dont . Any Advice?????

I would speak to Tess and calmy tell her what you know to be true, after that I would keep out of it! It sounds like its going to end up in a big confrontation and I would stay out of that. If they blame your sister then they are not very good friends and you are both better off out of it.

Best stay well out of it as it sound like Tess is commiting some sort of fraud by subletting, as it technically is.

your friends have gotten themselves in this mess, all you were doing was giving advice, at the end of the day their finances are their responsibility and threy need to face up to this.. looks like they need some independant money advise. give it time and a little space.

It was good of your sister to try and help Kate last year and its not her responsibilty what happened

All sounds very dodgy anyway so I'd steer well clear.

thank you all i have to agree thats what i am going to do. i have briefly told my sister the kate is in trouble and tess has found out. but i have left out the part containing sister. i feel better and i am staying out of conversation.

yes the part about sub letting is correct and illegal (which i have never agreed about) but at the time she needed a home and it was her sister and they were soposed to be putting kates name on rent book. but it has never happened.
