I am thinking about making the jump to digital scrapbooking. What program should I use? Any good websites out there for embellishments and paper? Any info would be greatly appreciated as I don't really know much about the digital scrapbooks. I just don't have time to sit down and handcraft anymore. TIA.

I'll post here too:
I like Panstoria Artisan software. I'm a lazy scrapbooker. I don't want to have to use Photoshop! Artisan is basically the same as the Creative Memories software that many of us use. Check out mousescrappers.com for a great forum on Disney digital scrapbooking. We used to have a bigger presence here but there was some misunderstandings and stuff, so that kind of died. If you check out my Pinterest (same as my username here), I have a Disney Digital Scrapbooking pin board with a lot of my favorite kits on it. I'm not a designer, so I don't make any money on that. Just making sure that's clear! Digital scrapbooking is a BLAST! Feel free to ask me any questions you have about getting started.

Thanks for a starting place. I am pretty tech savvy but I don't want to end up with a crummy program and waste money buying a new one.

I've been using MyMemories for the last 6 months or so. I like it, and there are tons of things you can buy, if you want to. I'm not sure it is any cheaper, but it does seem to go faster than the old fashioned way:thumbsup2

I use Heritage Makers. No software to download or buy. You can access from any computer. You get access to ALL of the digital art. They also have templates for those who don't want to digital scrapbook from scratch, but just pop in pictures. I've been using Heritage Makers for 6 years now and love it! It's not the cheapest, but HM has the best quality books out there.

Panstoria doesn't seem to have a lot of packages. Do you import your Creative Memories packages into the program? Is it compatible with CM software? Thank-you.

On another note, I'm kind of angry with my CM consultant. She sent me a CM sales email. In it she talked abut how CM filed Chapter 13 but they're coming back bigger and better. Great-just spent $400 to upgrade and buy new stuff and then I find out on mousescrappers CM won't support their products anymore. Needless to say if she moves over to Panstoria, she won't be my rep if I need one.

I love Studio J which is a Close To My Heart program. there is no charge to try it out and play as much as you want. You are only charged when you actually order the layouts. There is a minimum shipping charge so the more you order the better the value. Check it out!

Disclaimer I am a Close to my Heart consultant.

I have the CM software, too. Artisan is the same thing. It can't use the Cm content right now because of some legal issues with the Cm bankruptcy thing, but I'm pretty confident that they will work it out and your CM content will work in Artisan. Also, just because Cm is going away doesn't mean that their software will. Panstoria is the company that made that software, I have a feeling they will support it in the future.

I don't use much CM content at all so it doesn't bother me if my stuff won't migrate. I buy stuff from Britt-ish Designs, ScrapOrchard, Sweet Shoppe, and a bunch of other stores instead. Their stuff just blows CM's content out of the water if you ask me. Do some googling and you'll find tons of awesome freebies and kits to buy that will work in any software.

Another My Memories Suite user :thumbsup2 I create my own pages using a lot of different digital scrapbook items, then convert it to Jpeg file and upload the page to Shutterfly on a blank page and always get the 12x12 books. My favorite designer and website, especially for Disney trips, is kellybelldesigns.

There are a lot of awesome Dis and FB designers that give a lot of their time and make pictures and graphics that are personalized as well.

Have fun!

CM is not my go to for packages, I was just wondering about the digital packages. with Panstoria. I was lucky to get some of CM's Disney designs when they still had the license :)
I have pretty much all of Britt's, Kelly's, and Natalie's, designs. Sweet Shoppe has a few designers I really like.
Thanks for posting about Scraporchard- just bought a few digital kits to scrap my daughter's pregnancy and my soon to be first grandbaby!

Hi.

I just got panstoria and was very disappointed to learn they have no plans to get the license to provide disney content. I have 7 trips to do and really wanted to do them digital to share with family. Any suggestions? Can I download other software into panstoria? Is there any out thee?

I do not use a scrap booking program, I use Corel Paint Shop Pro. It's nicknamed "the poor man's Photoshop." It's very versatile and much more user friendly than Photoshop IMO. My avatar is a digitscrap page I made. As labdogs mentioned there was a misunderstanding here a few years ago so I hesitate to mention any designers but there are tons of very talented ones out there that make kits and templates. The great thing about digi is you can "undo" and reuse stuff over and over. I'm also on Pintrest, Instagram and most of my Disney stuff is in the Mousescrappers gallery. Same user name.

I've used Artscow.com for the last few years and I really like it. It's pretty easy to use, and there are a lot of choices of paper and embellishments. They also have discount codes floating around constantly, so you can generally get a good deal, too.

I made the switch to digital last summer. I use My Memories Suite to create my album/pages. Then I convert to JPEG and upload to Shutterfly to print 8x8 photo books. I like Kellybelldesigns and Natalie's Place for Disney-themed kits. I've also purchased kits from the My Memories website.

Yep, those are the designers that I buy. I like their content way better than the stuff Cm had anyway.

Look for those designers mentioned up there ^^^ or check out my Pinterest https://www.pinterest.com/labdogs42/disney-digital-scrapbooking/ to see some cool Disney inspired kits that I love (none of these are mine, nor do I profit from them, so I hope it is OK to share that link)

I use mixbook. You can upload digital scrapbooking elements (stickers/backgrounds in Mixbook terms). They have templates and stock papers/elements as well. Here are links to my last 4 Disney books. I use a lot of KellyBell's digital Disney elements.

It's not digital scrapbooking, but it's very quick and easy to do. It's called Project Life. It's sold on HSN and I've seen it at Hobby Lobby. You can get a lot done in a short amount of time by using this. And, Anna Griffin just came out with her version of Project Life.

I'm intrigued by the Mixbook idea. Which template do you start with and how do you add your own digital papers and embellishments? That seems like the best of both worlds to me!
