Digital Photo or Practical Photography mangazine?

I'm not sure whether this question can only be answered by fellow UK DISers, I want to get a subscription to a photography magazine for my brother for XMas and wondered if anyone bought either of these magazines and which one they liked the best?

I'm not in the UK, but my local bookstore here in the States gets the UK photo mags, so I'll go by and get one. More often than not it's Practical Photography. I really like that one. I've actually thought about getting an oversea's subscription. It would save me about $5 a month compared to buying it at the bookstore here.

Practical Photography gets my vote.

my favourite uk photo mags are 'Practical Photography' and 'Black&White Photography'. they tend to focus more on photography and less on technology

I've not read Practical Photography enough to recomended but I can recomend against Digital Photography. It should be renamed Digital Photography Buyers Guide because it contains little else than ads and reviews. Great if you are in the market for a new camera but not so much if you are just trying to learn more about this great, but expensive, hobby.
