Ok I think we are going digital... I really wasn't planning this move for at least another year or 2 so I need help!
My DH is doing computer work for his Aunt and she wants to buy us a camera....DH says it will be a lot of work and plus training her! (Spoiled I call it! )
Any way which one.
She said to pick one around $300.
We got my mom an olympus that is very nice and in that price range but wondered what you ladies use or think!

I have two digital olympus cameras....my first one is the c-711 with a built in printer(poloroid film) dh likes this, but I wanted a better zoom, so he bought me a c-730 which takes awesome pictures!

One of the most important yet most overlooked features is the shutter speed and the lag between photos. Some are as high as 1.7 seconds to snap the picture and another 5 seconds to be ready to take the next one. This makes taking back to back pitures of kids/pets playing, parades, sports impossible.

At disney I found this particulary annoying when trying to take photos on attractions and during parades. I now have a digitaal video camera for things that move :)

I just got a Sony, the DCP-10. I love it. It is a bit more than what you want to spend, but I think they have a lower priced model. Mine was $499. It has a "blast" option where it will take three picture very fast right in a row with one press of the shutter button. This eleviates the previous posters problem. You pick the shot you like and delete the other two. I love it so far... 5 mega pixels too!:D

I have the Olympus C730 also and LOVE it, especially the 10x optical zoom!

I have an Olympus camera too and I am not impress with the quality of the outdoor pictures. Many times they come out white wahed even when I adjust it for sunlight. However, I love the features. The pictures come out clear and bright. It has a feature for black and white photos. Also, don't forget to buy rechargeable batteries. It will save you a ton of money.

I love my Sony! And I bought the HP printer with the card slots so i dont even have to turn on my cpu to print. One rec. I have is that all my girlfriends bouhgt the same camera- or at least the same brand so we all helped each other learn to use them!

My vote goes to the Fuji Finepix. I have great success with mine. It also has a setting for taking multiple shots in sequence. I planned to do this and delete the unwanted ones, but have saved some wonderful sequences which look great framed or hung together or in my scrapbook.

Okay, I just figured out I didn't know how to use my camera. It does take great outdoor pictures. I had the setting wrong. So, I retract my statement. It is a great camera.
