Does anyone have any ideas for where to get really cheap digital cams for preschoolers? I really want digital so that I don't have to spend money on film and developing. They're used to seeing pictures on screen anyway.

I've seen the Fisher Price ones and they're way more than what I want to spend. Is there any such thing for under $20 each?

Thanks!

I have seen some at Walmart in your price range. I do want to say though that the Fisher Price one is great. My mother bought one for my son (who was 2 at the time) one for Christmas last year because we were all going to MK in January. At first I thought she was ridiculous to spend that much on a camera for a 2 year old, but he loves it. He used it at MK, and still uses it wherever I bring my camera. That thing is so durable. It has been dropped so many times. Last weekend it rolled down a hill then bounced off the ledge at the bottom and dropped 4 feet. Still works great.

I'm also looking for one for DD's 5th birthday in two weeks. I've seen the $20 ones at Walmart but most of them either don't have a view screen (sort of defeats the purpose of a digital camera) or don't have a flash. I really wasn't wanting to get the FP one. It's bulky and more than what I wanted to spend. DD has used my digital camera from time to time and does pretty well with it. I found a Vivitar camera that got decent reviews for around $40 on Walmart's website, but it's been out of stock. I think I'm going to have to come up with another idea for her bday and revisit the camera idea for Christmas.

How much was the FP camera? I was thinking of getting a disposable but with no view screen it wouldnt be fun - was also worried about it being dropped...

There was recently a thread over on the budget board about this same thing. People really warned against the Fisher Price one. Very poor quality.

I bought my DS the Kid I-Zoom made by V-Tech last year for Christmas. He loves it and uses it all of the time. I bought it for $39.99 from Target and it came with the carrying case. It takes decent pictures and also has a couple of games loaded which was an unexpected bonus.

We have the fisher price one. My mom got it for my kids for christmas. It was $50. Both of kids love it. I have a dd4.5 and a ds3. We have never developed any of the pictures but they love to take the pictures and view them later. Great quality for children and how "careful" they are with things
