Our family went to the Fort Worth zoo today. It's big and hot and humid with lots of walking and crowds to loose your two year old DS in.

It was great practice for going to WDW!

DH was already talking strategies for our trip in December.

We learned:

Must have strap or harness contraption to hold on to 2 yr old DS when he is tired of the stroller!

Everyone was very satisfied eating a lunch of grapes and rolled up deli sliced turkey, trail mix, and cheese sticks. It fit nicely compact in a small cooler that was easy to take with us, along with small zip loc bags to put everyone's portions in. (If you've seen the toddlers with the baggie of cherios, you can get the picture). We just picked a shady spot and sat and ate!

Seems like everyone picks the same color matching shirt to wear (orange or red or yellow). Should we wear matching sun visors in a hideous color?

Our digital camera batteries quit on us half way through the zoo. Don't want to carry extra in the park. Are there any out there that will last the whole day before hitting the recharge cradle at night? Ours is a Kodak Easyshare.

Thanks!

Lithium AA should last you the day. They are not rechargeable and they are expensive but they cut down on carrying extras.

Bought a harness for DS yesterday (21 months) and he was running away from me in the store while I was looking for it! :rotfl2: DD4 realized what it was for and actually ASKED for one for herself! She is very concerned about getting separated from us in the park. So I got a harness for him and a wrist strap for her as she won't try to take it off without telling me.

Harness $6
Wrist Strap $3
Impulse buy sale clothes for DS $40!

Peace of mind that I *might* not lose the kids next week at WDW Priceless!

PS I'd do the matching clothes thing but DH would refuse to acknowledge us if I did.

Rechargeable batteries have a rating on them that indicate how much of a charge they hold. Even within the same brand, you may find identically-looking batteries rated for 1700 mAh, 2200 mAh, and 2500 mAh. The higher a rechargeable battery's mAh rating, the more run-time you'll get out of your device.

:rotfl: ROFL That's classic!!

We got my DD a harness for a large car show we were taking her to. I didn't think it was fair to keep her in the stroller for the whole time but she runs! We got a really cute one that is a plush back pack and his removable tail is the tether. She loves it and I have a little peace of mind.
