I read that MK has a service in Town Hall (maybe) that you can take your full flash card in to the phtot shop and you can put your pics on disc and empty your card to take more. Has anyone done this? I wonder if it would be cheaper to purchase another card verses using that service.

Buy another card.

We went with the intention of doing that, too but decided against it! The lady behind the counter didn't know how the machine worked. Then she asked another CM and that one wasn't too sure how to do it right, either! They told us there have been problems with the system losing pictures- especially with SD cards. We didn't want to chance it, so we just cut down on the number of pictures we took. Still took over 400, so not too bad.

At MGM, the guy there seemed a little better, but not much and I was still nervous. Thought about buying another memory card there but it was WAY overpriced!! We plan on buying a few more memory cards before we go again. Maybe it will get better in time, but I think the service is just too new.

This was our experience, maybe someone else had a positive one?

Thank you for your input! I think I will buy another card because I CANNOT cut down on my pics! I am an avid scrapbooker and I NEED the pics!

Those disks are $12.00 and hold somewhere around 300 pics. If you dont have a car rented to go to Walgreens and get one done for $3.00 then just buy another card before your trip.

Remember, unless you plan on printing an 8x10 out of the pics then use the lower (2MP) setting. You get more pics on the card that way. The pics look exactly the same on 4x6 as the high MP shots. :)

There was a post on this very subject several weeks ago. It had posts from people who had this done then when they got home the CD was not readable. The cost was so high that it was cheaper to just buy an additional card. They have really come down in price the last few month. I have never had this problem. I always just take two card...smjj

We have a Sony Cybershot and it takes a Memory Stick. We found a Lexar brand 256MB at Sams Club for $42.12 and I went to Sears today and the Sony brand was $109.00. WOW!!!!!! I will definately purchase this before our trip next month. :cool1:

I also have a Sony Cybershot and plan to take at least two 256 meg sticks when we go. I have read that you can get your memory cards burned to CD at any of the photo shops at WDW, but I don't really trust the ability of people I don't know to correctly do these things and possibly loose some of my families Magical Moments. Thats why I hope to have enough memory sticks to last the whole week we are there so that I can burn the pictures to CD myself when we get home. That way if they are lost I have no one to blame by myself. So regardless of the cost, I would think buying evtra memory cards would be better.

Goofy Dad, Thanks for that tidbit of info. I didn't think of changing my settings on the camera. You are right, I get the same quality 4x6 prints and MORE pics!

With two 256MB cards my camera will take 820 pictures on that setting. I would imagine yours would be close to that. My Fuji Finepix A340 uses that newer xD card. Someone here on the boards told me that they hold more pics than other cards. Not sure really. This is my first "real" digital camera. :)
