Dificulty keeping baby's hat on???

Don't worry too much - you'll have a great trip! Just remember - it could always be harder - you could have two 2 year olds...or 3...or 4...or 5...:scared: :) (This is what I tell myself when I start to feel overwhelmed with my 2!)

LOL Oh, good point! I have caught a few episodes on TLC where they have eight kiddos...2 6 year olds and 6 2 year olds! We have a dd's 6 and a 2 so this really hits home for us (plus we have 2 boys ages 11 and 12 and we feel crazy at times with 4 kids). Yep, there is always someone who has it harder, that is for sure!

Sweetness,

Hello. Do you think if you let her pick a hat out she might be more inclined to wear it ? It might work, she might not like keeping it on all the time but at least if it's one she picked out and she likes it you might stand a better chance of her keeping it on most of the time. You could probably put sunscreen on her head like you said for the times she takes it off. Hope this helps.

Blessed Be,
Tina

I found the cutest hat for $7.99 yesterday at Bab. R Us! It is a pink baseball cap with Disney princesses and rhinestones on it. It is toddler size. I will be making my DD2 practice wearing a little every day. Probably still won't work, but it is just too cute!

Hello,
I have used sunscreen on heads before with no problems. DD4 has a lot of hair now which can protect her while she is swimming, but I still put some in her part.

Also, just a personal story (not intended as a flame). When DS8 was 2 1/2 we went to Disney (end of August) and he refused to wear his hat on our Animal Kingdom day so I just put extra sunblock on him. Well, by noon time, he was crying quite loudly :scared1: that his head hurt and we had to return to the hotel and put him to bed for a long nap. This did not happen on any other day when he wore his hat. Point is, the sun is really bright in Florida then. If you are having trouble with a hat, then maybe sunglasses would work. :confused3 Or a combo of the two. Either way, I would bring a hat just in case. My DS did not fight it after his bad experience. Enjoy your trip.

What if you showed her in the mirror how great she looks in her hat. That worked for my DS. He loved looking at himself and I was very enthusiastic about how cool he looked in his hat. He's 2.5 and wears a hat now with no trouble. Last time we were at Disney he even wanted his sunglasses on because he hated the sun in his eyes.

We also used a harness. I don't use it at home but Disney is a special situation. And it's not uncommon at all to see toddlers there with harnesses on.

I would make sure to get the big sunshade for the stoller. They work great and I believe they even have UV protectant. We use them all the time. The only person that will wear a hat is my 5 year old, and even he takes it off after a while because he is sweating.
