So each year, I (like many others) hum and haw about where to stay for our trip this May (11-19th). Here are this year's options/considerations. Looking for input/thoughts/maybe some unbiased clarity :). We are a group of 5: 3 adults: me, DH, DM and 2 kids: twin boys just before they turn 5. We are there for 8 nights - 5 park days, 2 down days at resort/pool time, plus we do a pool break every day and don't do hoppers.

2 Rooms at POFQ (least amount) - did this last year and everyone liked it. Us/kids in one room and mom in a connecting
2 rooms at CSR (add about $300) - love the Dig Site and am thinking different is always good - we love doing new - and my mom still gets her own space (we know connecting is not guaranteed)
2BR at SSR (add about $1200 from CSR) - LOVE the multiple fun/feature pools. Size is a bit big, but we are ok with walking. The bedroom space is huge for us.
2BR at OKW (same as SSR) - love the slightly larger units, but pools don't wow me as much with no good splash area

Thoughts? The boys loved when we stayed at AKV-Kidani in a 1BR when they were in cribs(particularly the pool/splash area) but configuration of sleepers really doesn't work for our needs, so we'd need a 2 BR which is waaaaay more.

Too many options! Just not sure moving to a 2BR is worth that kind of increase, but the pools/amenities are better, we know.

The two boys can't share the sleeper sofa and mother can't sleep on the twin sleeper chair? The sleeper chair is usually more comfortable than the sleeper sofa.

We checked out of POFQ this morning and told DH this resort will be our go to resort when we have park days (we sonetimes take resort-only stays when combining with a beach or cruise vacation).

Any thoughts on AKL? Splash area is amazing.

Sorry, missed the part, where you stayed at AKL before.

Mom is a touch older (as we are we...late parents), and we would love to give her her own space. To be honest, to make a one bedroom work, we have considered DH and the boys take the king bedroom, and mom gets the sofa bed and I take the sleeper chair. Not sure if that's really ideal, but could work.

And Deb...that's why I was asking about cots the other day. If we could get a cot in there, we would open the bedroom for my mother. Same thoughts on BLT 1 BR. That 2nd bathroom really makes it doable I would think.

How about you and mom share the master and dad and boys share the living room?

Hmmmm...it's a thought! Part of me just really hates having to move to a 2 bedroom, it's such a huge jump in price.

I appreciate the ideas!

Dad and the boys can use the bathroom at the entrance and you and mom can share the luxurious one attached to the bedroom.

It's funny...a 1BR at BLT is the same as a 2BR at SSR or OKW, so I think that for the same price, I would do more space (and more individual spaces) if I spend that much. But a 1BR at AKV is between the mod 2 Room option and the 2BR options.

Damn...more options!!

Personally, i would go with the 2 rooms at CSR. If you book preferred you will all be in one of Casitas 1, 2, or 3. Request connecting and hopefully you will get at least the same building. But it is significantly less expensive, everyone gets their own space with real beds, the pool here will be awesome for everyone, the hot tub is huge, the salon and fitness centres are a nice plus and the dining here is quite good, IMO. There are four bus stops, which I think is perfect so that everyone is close to a stop, but you are never long before you are on your way. It is a convention resort, but that often means less daytime crowding on the buses. AND CSR is in a nice, centralized location.

CSR and POR are probably our two favourite moderate resorts. So, as you have already stayed POFQ and likes it, I would be inclined to try CSR this time around.

Good luck choosing!
