We have been throwing around a small add on    because of course we are planning too many trips in 09 for our current points!!! We went the resale route with our inital purchase and most likely will do that again since we would like to own at a different resort. We are already SSR lovers !!! My questions is do any of you own different UYs or is it too crazy to keep track of?? Should I wait until something I want comes up in our UY which is Feb???

If at all possible, keep the same use year. If you are exceptionally organized, you might be able to pull off having two different UYs, but things become a good deal more complicated for figuring out which points you can use where when.

We have two different use years, June and December. That also means that you have two different member ID #s.

We really haven't found any problems with it yet. Most everything is managed for you by the DVC website. I can combine points from the two different ID# if I make a reservation requiring a lot of points.

We added the second use year when we bought a small resale for OKW. I thought a December use year would be useful for acquiring additional contracts through Disney late in a calendar year, and getting the points for that year AND a new set of points in December! And, not paying a whole lot of MF for that year either.

If you found a contract that you wanted to buy, I don't think I would allow a different use year to stop the purchase.

Good luck!
