Can somebody tell me about the rennovations going on now at the
Disneyland hotel?
We're going to make reservations today and I'm wondering if we should (or can) request a specific tower?
The Dreams Tower (formerly the Sierra Tower)
The Magic Tower (formerly the Marina Tower)
The Wonder Tower (formerly the Bonita Tower)
We're just going to get the standard/least expensive room. Are we going to be able to request a tower? If so, which one should we ask for?
Thanks.
Well, we've only been once, but I'll try to tell you what I know and hope it helps (or at least bumps up the post

)
Dreams - this is the tower currently undergoing renovations. It seems to me based on the direction it faces, that the rooms should either overlook DTD or the pools/grounds. So would that make them all considered better/higher level rooms (not standard)?
Magic - I think half of these rooms overlook parking lots. We were originally assigned such a room, but were switched because we had requested a day bed and that room didn't have one (not sure how prevalent in that tower it is). We had requested a standard room with a day bed fwiw. The castmember checking us in told us that the new room was "much better, not looking at the parking lot"
Wonder - half of the rooms overlook the pools/grounds. We were on the 9th floor with that view (could see off to the right DTD and some of the mountains in DLP). We had a day bed. I think the castmember checking us in said it was an upgrade, not a standard room
For us it was a space thing - needed the day bed for DD. We don't typically choose a room w/ a view - not worth the extra money to us most of the time, since esp at Disney, not in the room much.
Distance-wise, Magic is closer to parking by a few minutes, and Dreams closer to DTD by a minute. I would think the big difference was whether you got a renovated room or not, which I doubt would be guaranteed unless you paid for a certain level
I'm sure you will have fun no matter where your room is. Have fun
