In the rough stages of planning an itinerary, have chosen Chef Mickeys for dinner one night but looking at the transportation looks like a lot of bother to move from our resort YC to MK to Contemporary. We will be relying on Disney transportation but I'm wondering if it would be worth while getting a cab. Someone out there must have done this any offers of advice. I was looking at the Concourse Steakhouse too but we might as well stay closer to home and eat at the YC Steakhouse or Galley.

I would definitely take cabs between resorts for dinner reservations. It's by far the easiest option and not too expensive, either.

We eat at Chef Mickey, we travel from SSR, we get a bus to MK then walk, it onlys takes 2 mins or so, they is a walkway straight to the entrance.

We also ate at Poly, we got a bus to the TTC, and walked around to the hotel.

I would probably go by WDW transportation but come back by cab :)

If MK is open then taking the resort bus is the easiest option. You could always come back by monorail to Epcot and walk through if the timings are right. It is also very easy to get a cab from the Contemporary - usually some waiting outside without even having to get the Concierge to call one for you.

With this being our first visit everything is alien to us. Looked up transportation on ourlaughingplace.com and it claims YC - MK - Contemp 37 minutes. YS - MGM - Contemporary 49 minutes, YC - BB - Contemp 44 minutes. I was just a bit horrified by the times. A cab sure looks tempting, just for ease. The plan was to go to MK for Wishes after dinner so I reckon cab to Contemp, walk to MK if its only a few minutes and then Mono back to YC after the fireworks. OMG if its this much work for one meal, I think we'll being going hungry for the rest of the holiday. :rotfl:

We sometimes used to walk from YC to epcot nice walk, then jump on the monorail to MK then swop for the resort one. not sure how long it takes just an idea for you :thumbsup2

Will you not be hiring a car? If not, then I agree with taxi recommendation. Personally, we always drive and then use the valet parking.

No, we will not be hiring a car. The thought scares me to death. Its bad enough driving in this country these days. We just want to lay back and not worry about a thing.
