DH and I are trying to remember the way it use to be! :rotfl:

He says that the old mugs were sold with the concept that they were refillable for any stay at any resort. For example if you stayed at All Star Music one year and the next year you stayed at the Poly, then you could use it in either place.

I say it was good for ever at the same resort. For example purchased at All Star Music and only good for future years at All Star Music.

:earsboy: I know that neither of these is the present policy! I understand that one resort only and only for length of that stay! :rotfl:

But back in the good old days... :earseek: what was the policy?

I have a weeks worth of dishes bet on the fact that I am correct! :cool1:

I have no idea what the "official" policy was back in the "olden days", since I wasn't on these boards that many years ago and never thought to ask "officially", since the cm's had already told me to bring them back. There were no signs. Then a couple three years ago signs went up on the walls, by the elevators and now in rooms on the stand up cardboard, and then on the drink area itself (and now the mug) saying good for length of stay. Our original mugs are from the first year the All Stars opened & a Dixie Landing mug, and we were told that we could bring them back on future trips. We had been told the All Stars ones were only good at the Music and her sister resorts, ..but forever if we wanted to cart them back.
Since then I've been in line both at All Stars and POR and heard guests (after the signs were up) told that they were good at any resort. The All Stars still say it's fine to bring them back..POP will tell you they have to say length of stay if you ask at the registers or food court manager..but in reality no one seems to care.
We are going to see Bob tonight..I wish I had brought back my old Dixie mug, I would like to show off it's pristine condition...and listened carefully to see if anyone commented on my bringing it back LOL. I'll have to remember it in May.

Thought I'd hop in for a second before a moderator comes in and closes the thread.:rotfl:

You could at least answer the question at hand! :rotfl:

Nope. I dont even think so. :rotfl: Not slammin my foot in that door. Just wanted to come out for the fireworks that should erupt before long. Assuming the thread isnt closed. There was a thread posted like this that was closed after people started cutting throats. And another post/poll on this subject was closed after only 2 or 3 responses.

This is not a moral thing or a what if I bring back an old mug thing! This is a trivia type question about how things use to be!

Way back when there was a policy about the mugs! Just like today there is a policy! We have forgotten or should I say DH has forgotten what the old policy was! :rotfl:

I see no reason for the thread to be closed for asking simple question!

Let me simplify it for you....Under the original rules ...could a mug be used at more than one resort? Or could it only be used at the resort where it was purchased? There is that simple enough to not cause a controversy? :)

When I first purchased mine, many many years ago, I was told that they were good for future visits to the resort where the mug was purchased, or it's sister resorts (ie: All Stars or PO with it sister resorts). This was back in 1996 ish. Now it is printed on the mug...for current stay. What I would like to know is maybe they can come up with a recycle program for us frequent stayers... just how many mugs do they think I want to buy when I go every 6-8 weeks or so???

When we bought our mugs at the Polynesian in 1997, they were good only at the Polynesian for the length of our stay. That's as far back as I go.

:) Okay. Do you see what is already happening here? All of your "!" make it look like you're getting bent out of shape over the subject. I didn't come here to start anything. All I said is that this is a really touchy subject for the mods right now. Heck the OP I mentioned earlier simply had a poll asking if people thought it was okay to do this. I understand your post is not meant to be inflammatory but it is just a "resort mug" post. I figured it would have been closed by now. And NO, I didn't think it should be. Now, get down off the soap box and stop yelling. You're making a fool of yourself so stop. No one was looking for an argument here but if you want a mod to come in and close the thread, by all means, lets keep going. :rolleyes2

When we purchased our first mugs, we were told they were good for future visits at the same resort or sister resorts (we were at ASMus). It seems to me this changed about two years ago.

You know G00fyDad, it might help if you only jump in when you have something to contribute to the post other than guessing when it will be closed or deleted.

Amen!

Thank you all for your answers! :)

DH is saying that the way it came out neither of us win. I said only the resort and he said any and it turns out that a sister resort was a possibility... :rotfl:

I guess that means we will have to share dish duty for the next week. :guilty:

I agree--we need to stop--this is not a good idea-- I am surprised that is is not closed yet. .. . . . .

Op--some of these questions have already been answered in other drink threads--do a search on them and you will see what goofydad is talking about--it gets ugly. . . .

I thought when I said "Thank You" that I stopped it. I got the answer I needed and I moved on. :flower:

People do it though. Most won't admit it, nobody wants to get caught doing it. But they still do. A lot still do.

Don't talk about it though or the boogie patrol will get you.

When I first purchased the mugs several years ago at the WL, I was informed by the CM that they could be used on subsequent visits to the WL for Free refills. Now to add more confusion to the settlement of your bet...at that time you were also able to use the mugs at other resorts, but not in the parks, for refills at a discounted price of $1.00 per mug. This was posted at the cash registers at Roaring Rapids in the WL and verified by the CM working at the time. I never used the mugs during that visit at any other resort and I believe that the policy changed soon afterward.

we bought our WL mugs at Roaring Forks in 01 - I honestly believe we were told they were refillable forever - and therefore will continue to bring them back
we bought PO mugs in 02 but havent returned to that resort (yet)
in 04 we brought back our WL mugs, didnt get mugs for our 2nights at CB

this Aug we will bring back our WL mugs for 3nights, buy 2 mugs at Pop for 5nights plus buy 2 mugs at BC for 6nights - so it will cost us $48 for soda/coffee for 2wks
