Different Port Arrival Times Within Travel Party

My wife and I are going on a cruise with her parents in January. When we did our online check-in this weekend, we received different port arrival times since we're traveling to Port Canaveral in different ways. We are taking Disney transportation from WDW to Port Canaveral and received a 10:15-10:30 arrival time (boarding group #3). Her parents are staying at a hotel the night before and taking a shuttle to Port Canaveral that does not allow them to schedule a departure time on the shuttle. Their Port Arrival Time is 11:30-11:45 (boarding group #12).

I know Port Arrival Times are currently strictly enforced. How does this work if we want to board the ship together? Is there somewhere we could wait until they arrive?

I think the best (maybe only?) way to coordinate that is to arrange private transport for all of you together. You can reset your PAT to match the other. Arriving separately will move each party through testing, check-in and boarding separately — especially arriving via DCL transfers from WDW. The intent is to not have people just hanging out in the terminal. So arriving together is the best way to board together; otherwise make plans to meet up onboard. Be aware that if you all arrive together, if someone from the other stateroom tests positive at embarkation the whole group will be denied boarding; arriving separately will not have that impact.

The only problem I see with arriving all together is on the off chance someone tests positive the WHOLE party will be denied boarding.
