Different in cost in 3-tiered cakes?

Anyone know the approximate difference in cost between a 3-tiered mad hatter and just a regular 3-tiered cake (custom design)?
I can't find my cake spreadsheet at the moment. We have a 3-tiered madhatter in our budget right now: $980 (1043 with tax).

I think the pricing for a 3 tier cake vs 3 tier Mad Hatter cake depends on the detail...for instance, I previously had a 3 tier custom cake priced for $550 but it was a simple design. My planner said it depends on how much detail goes into a custom cake, some have been priced at 800 (non Mad Hatter). I just switched to a 2 tier Mad Hatter because I love the design way more than my 3 tier custom, and I will gladly give up a tier to have something unique. HTH!

I did a three-tier custom, but it was very customized. It ended up being over $1000, but it also had a sugar-glass section lit up with LEDs. I think the custom could be less or more than the hatter cake, and if you let your planner know a price goal they'll give you ideas in that range.
