Different departure dates and DDP?

I know that everyone staying in the same room needs to be on the same dining plan, but what happens if one of the people only stays for a few days? We are going in November and based on the discounted annual pass prices for the DVC members, I asked my mom if she would fly down with us for 3 days so we can take advantage of the AP discount. She will stay in the room with us, but we are staying for 12 days, and she will only be there for 3 - will Disney let us get her the meal plan for just those 3 days? Or will I have to buy her a 12 day dining plan?

Thanks!

You can either add her to the reservation in advance and then she would have to have the same tickets and meal plan as everyone else. Or if you are staying on a cash reservation through CRO you can have her added after you arrive at the resort and she would get no tickets or dining. She can't get it for just the days she is there. My understanding is that you cannot do this if staying on DVC points, she would have to be added ahead. But no personal experience.

I'm confused by the whole DVC discounted AP and AP rate discussion though. What exactly is your plan for where/how you are staying? That might help clarify what your options are.

Sorry to be so confusing! We had a trip booked for 2 weeks in November, and then booked another 2 weeks in Feb, so we decided to buy annual passes rather than doing daily passes. We were going to buy them at Shades of Green with the military discount, but then found out that DVC members can purchase them for an even bigger discount. So we are staying at POR and paying cash, not using DVC, but we want her to come down so she can get us the discount on the annual passes! Only DVC members can purchase the AP with the discount, so I can't do it without her.

Just so your aware, DVC AP's can only be purchased for people living in the same house as the DVC member (I'm pretty sure).

You have to show your license and the DVC members card when picking the tickets up. All adults would have to show their license and it would have to be the same as the DVC member. I'm sure someone else will chime in if this is incorrect.

This is correct. It's immediate family only, living in the same home. And you must show ID. So you need a different plan.

We are immediate family, and my parents live in an in-law at my house, so we have the same address. We already made sure we qualify, we just need to figure out if we can pick ours up without the DVC member being present, but I'm guessing the answer is no.
