Pros and Cons of each!!!

CRO recommended South Wing as close to pool as possible....they said it is better for the kids but I cant help wondering from posts on this board if the North Wing would be better... It will just be me and 4 kids ages 12, 11, 9 and 9. The resort looks so BIG!!!!! I did request ground floor also but have read about the bird droppings and noise of people above you and am thinking that might be a mistake also!!! Wing floor recommendations anyone???? Resort Mugs.....if I am far away I cant see myself walking back and forth to refill!!!! We stayed in Carribbean Beach last year in Martinique 22 and while it was not what I would consider far from the refills it was still a pain.

Thanks everyone!!!

We have always stayed in the North wing - requested North Garden wing, close to food court.

It's an easy walk to the pool - exit the building and cut across the patio area. I also like being close to the walkway to MK and the arcade for the kids (8 & 10). I think the South wing may have better views of the lagoon, but some rooms may have views of the trash area. I can't say for sure because I've never stayed over there.

Your countdown shows you in the world around the same time as us. We are staying in the North Garden wing through SOG. It was my understanding that SOG was using this entire wing until their remodeling is done. But if CRO is giving you a choice, maybe I'm mistaken.

We loved the north garden wing and still stayed there even though we werent through SOG. I feel the north garden wing is closest to the tower, food n fun center, walkway to MK and to the buses. However, the south wing is closest to the pool but I dont think the North garden wing is that far from it. We stayed on the third floor room 7384 and had a great view we thought for a parking lot price. Good luck on your decision:Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hi vellamint,

We go to CR every year. We've stayed in Tower, North & South wings. We love the Tower but usually stay in the North wing. We've stayed twice in the South wing and we just don't care for it. When I thought about it I realized it's hard to put my finger on exactly what I don't like, but this year we've decided to use more of our precious DVC pts to stay in the Tower rather than the South wing again.

We stayed in a first floor balcony room in the South wing last summer because the North wing was full through SOG. It might be closer to the pool but the North wing is closer to Food n Fun, the monorail and MK. It's hard to explain but when we stay in the SW I feel like we're at somewhere other than CR. I feel kinda removed from things. I believe at one time the South wing was all smoking (I might be mistaken), but I found the room to have a musty odor. It also seemed more dated than the NW, but again, it could be my perspective. As far as noise is concerned, we experienced noisy neighbors in both wings, and that's just the luck of the draw I think. I was nice having the patio since the 2nd & 3rd floor don't have balconies, but if I had my choice I'd stay in the NW on the 3rd Floor as close to the main building as possible.

In case my post gives you the wrong idea, we absolutely love CR and even in the South wing we have a great time. Enjoy your trip.

I would go with the North Wing - the SOG is not using all of it as we stayed there for three nights recently. The main reason why I recommend North Wing is that it is a closer walk to the MK which is the major reason in my mind to stay at the CR. If you want a distance compromise a room such as 7103 is close to the bus stop, the CR tower entrance and about 10 minutes walk to the MK - see this thread

I can't tell you about they South wing, but we stayed on the second floor of the North wing and loved it. There was no noise from above to speak of. We were booked in a standard view, but overlooked the tennis courts to one side and also the lake and a nice walkway. Looking back, we must have been upgraded because we were on the other side of the building from the parking lot. The parking was another plus, as we were able to self park in the lot in front of the North garden wing which was very close to the entrance and about a minute walk to the room. The walk to MK was very pleasant and we were also not far from the main building entrance. We didn't use the pool much but I don't remember that being very far either. All in all it was very good value in the wings, I never really appreciated how close the resort was to the MK until we stayed there. The arcade is awesome. I wasn't too crazy about the room decor (I believe it's the same in the tower and both wings) but everyone else liked it--they thought it was very fun and colorful (which may be the understatement of the day). Have a good trip.:D

we stayed in the south wing in December, and found it remarkably noisy from all the boats in the lagoon. I would suggest elsewhere, if you can.

Here is an aerial pic that might help:

http://www.disneypix.com/2000ft/Roll3/Roll03_004.htm

The North Wing is above and right of the Tower whilst the South Wing is below and to the right of the Tower

Clairesmom must have been staying in the South Tower near the passageway between Bay Lake to the right of the picture and Seven Seas Lagoon towards the left

You can see the North Wing about 10 minutes walk max to MK

You will love the CR - it is a great resort

Thanks
