Differences Between Harbor Club (BWV) and Sandcastle Club (BCV)?

I have been trying to figure out if there is a difference between the Harbor Club (BWV) and Sandcastle Club (BCV) - childcare/activity programs for children. Do you know? FYI...our home resort is BCV - just bought in this month. Have never stayed anywhere but PO.

The DVC materials and everything I have read online from Disney makes the Harbor Club sound much more comprehensive. And the materials also say that club is open during the day and provides dinner. The notes about the Sandcastle club mention evening only and no dinner.

Any experience with these two children's programs? I would really like to clear up any misconception I have once and for all and understand the differences between these two "clubs." Thanks for your help.

Didn't they close the Harbor Club a few months ago? Has it re-opened?

Harbor club is currently still closed.

I stopped in the Sandcastle club with the kids towards the end of our last trip. They really wanted to go there, but didn't have time. I promised them on the next trip that they could, so we have it scheduled for Ocotober. I will let you know how it goes. As far as dinner, I can answer that one. They told me when I was there, that if they are there during the dinner time, they do get fed. You have to pick from a small list of kid type foods when you schedule your time with them. It was something like Hot Dogs, Chicken Nuggets and Mac and Cheese.

After I saw your response, I did a little searching on the boards about the closing notice, and you are right. The Harbor Club did close - was consolidated with the Sandcastle Club.

I am so glad the Sandcastle Club is still in in operation. Another plus for the BCV I guess. But I still can't wait to stay at the BWV and all the other DVC resorts. I think I'm gona just be one of those resort hopper members ;) Thanks for your help.

Our kids love the Sandcastle Club. The staff is very nice. You can will check a menu when you get there and pick food and drink and the time you would like it ordered (I believe 6:00,7:00, or 8:00). DS was a little disappointed the Spiderman game was gone but they have other computers and arcade games. Any questions please ask.

No PB&J?!? This woudl thrill me! That means my duaghter could go and I wouldn't have to worry about her. (Severely allergic to the stuff.) Is this the usual menu at all the kids clubs? I was waiting until my youngest coudo go in with her before we tried them out so hubby and I could go to a dinner out or soemthing.

Actually, now that i think about it...I wonder if they woudl even let me leave an EpiPen and Benadryl there for her or is there ruels againist that? She doesn't go anyhere without her EpiPen. Her allergy is just too serious.
Anyoen know what they policies are?

lenshenam: They do have PB&J and I can understand your concern because my dd has a peanut allergy also..
We just got back and my kids went on the pirate cruise. They normally serve PB&J but I had noted my dd's allergy and they had prepared an alternative. They moved her to the front seat of the boat to seperate her from the kids that had PB&J when it became time for the kids to eat. I am sure they could do the same at the kid's clubs. I do not know their policy on the epipen.

Thanks for the info nisiemouse. Have you tried the Tea Party at GF yet with her? I know my daughter woudl love that, but I've been scared to try it out. Did she liek the pirate cruise? Do you leave an EpiPen for her?
