Can anyone tell me the difference between a Value or Standard view at Aminal Kingdom Lodge. Want to add a extra trip this year and the points are big difference? Thanks :cool1:

The value units are about 3 feet shorter (on the balcony end) than standard units (so in 1BR and larger you don't get the sleeper chair) and with the value you might get a savanna, pool or parking lot view, it just depends on the luck of the draw. The value units are very hard to book as there are so few of them and they go quickly but standard view is almost always available.

Thats all i know is that they are 3 feet shorter. I have these value rooms booked in february and i will be down there next month staying at BWV. I hope to try and get into a room and take pictures for our february trip.

I did have a value 1BR on one of our trips and the balcony itself seemed a to have slightly less depth compared to the other villas.

When AKV Jambo first opened in 2008, I stayed in a Standard view and moved to a Value view the next night so that I could see the difference for myself. Both rooms were pool view-both equally good views (actually the value seemed slightly better). I didn't notice the loss of the 3 feet. All my subsequent stays at AKV have been value view, because the room seems just as good, and the savings in points can't be beat. Twice I've had to waitlist at seven months, but the waitlist came thru in a week or so.

Value room can be either savannah, pool or parking lot view request not taken. Standard at Jambo are pool view. Value one bedrooms only sleep 4 no sleeper chair.

You did not indicate what room size you are looking at getting, but the 2BR standard has 3 full bathrooms versus 2 in the values. The 1 BR standard has 2 full bathrooms versus 1 in the value. This may make a difference depending on how many are traveling. Also, the 2BR standard has a chair in the living room which converts to a single bed, allowing for 9 guests, rather than 8 in the value 2BR.

Jumbo house do not have the additional bathroom.

At Kidani the 1 bed have 2 bathroom no matter the view category. At Jambo they only have 1 bathroom.

I stayed in a value sized 1 bedroom and a standard view 1 bedroom at Jambo house this past december.

Here are the pictures from my trip: http://gallery.me.com/youreverydayadam#100022

The room photos in the gallery are of the value sized room.

My opinion on it: The value sized rooms are a good sized room and I would not miss the 3 feet from a value sized room. My stay started at a value sized room and I moved to a standard sized room. My initial thought when evaluating the space of the value room was "I can't see how the extra space would really add anything to the room". When I moved to the standard sized room, I found I was right. Basically, the chair was moved back a bit and the room had more empty space in it...but it didn't "feel" any bigger...mainly just extra useless space.

I've decided that anytime I book AKV in the future, it will be a value room. The point cost for a savannah view room aren't worth it to me. The extra space in a standard view room is useless to me. I'd rather save my points and/or go for a longer trip and have the chance of getting a savannah view (it's a 40% chance).
