Difference in ride experience for Nemo between day & night?

Obviously, I know from the DISboards that the Nemo line is going to be significantly smaller if we can wait to go on Nemo until later in the evening/night. However, I am just wondering if we will be missing any of the features, scenery or effects by not going when the sun is out. In the old subs the sun helped to light the entire lagoon and you could see much farther (from what I can remember.) Has anyone noticed a difference between their experiences in riding Nemo day vs. night?

Good post. I rode the subs last weekend at night only and was wondering the same thing.

Any differences?

Nope. There's only one outdoor part (usually what causes differences between day and night) and even still, you are underwater and can't notice it.

I tend to get close to the glass and look up every so often (to reassure myself we haven't actually descended into the depths of the ocean, LOL), and I've been on it in the morning and at dusk as the sun was dropping. There is a visual difference, but you don't see less, it's just a different "texture" to the light. As far as I remember they do have lights above the lagoon, so there is light, just different light.

But I've only been on it those two times, so I'm not an expert in it; I could be wrong!

I haven't even been on Nemo yet, sadly. Last I went there, July of '07, the line was huge all freakin' day...I wanted to see it, but the line was humongous. But this time, I'm gonna wait in line and see it.

I rode on an EE day with DD4 when parked opened and again that same night with DD2 and did not notice a difference. All of the outdoor things in the water were lit up, and some was a little harder to see but not significantly.

yeah, i like it better in the day. You can see far away and it feels like your really in the ocean. At night, too much color lights. hard to see far away.

PS. - If you just can't do the sub, fear, to closed in, nausea, disability there is a special room you can go to and see the movie. It is the same as the ride with out the discomfort of the sub.

Just ask a CM and they will take you to the room. No fuss!!

I intentionally rode Nemo twice for comparison's sake, and though the "inner" part of the ride is the same, I much prefer going through the lagoon in daytime. The effect of natural sunlight streaming down through the water is really beautiful:

is there a seperate line for this?

Cool photo, LittleWoodenHead - thanks for sharing. :goodvibes

I can't wait to ride this in May. :hippie:

It is a sit down movie. No there isn't really any line and it is hard to find with out CM help.

My friend really did not to do the sub she does like small places. But at the last minute before we left, I read about "the movie room" and she really enjoyed it.

I almost went with her but decided I didn't want to miss the sub experience. Ohhhhh it made me nausea to watch thru those little windows. I wish I had gone with her to the movie! Next time!!

PS - There wasn't anything to see in the open pond area but the green floaty stuff in the pic. Oh and 2 stone easter island type cravings and then tons more of the green stuff. Not too impressive.
