I just booked a weekend in Nov at WLV before we stay at SSR for the week. We have stayed at WL before for a weekend of just relaxing at the resort. We had a nice room, but it was small, with a great pool view. I was just wondering if there is a big difference with staying at the Lodge versus the villas? Do I check in in the same place? What are the views like? We use the same amenities as the Lodge, right? How is the boat transportation to MK? I remember reading something about a change in some transportation there?:confused3 Does the boat still take you to CR, and FW?
TIA!

The VWL rooms aren't comparable to the WL hotel rooms. The studios would be the only room type remotely in the same class and even they are a huge upgrade.

The views are pretty much non-descript. You can get views of trees, a glimpse of Bay Lake, a view of the VWL pool, but none are particularly outstanding, as far as views go.

You do use the same amenities as the WL.

Boat transportation to MK is a pleasant and relaxing ride, but not lightening fast. There are actually 2 boats that service WL. One boat travels from CR-WL-FW and the other (larger) boat services WL-FW-MK. There is also a bus to the MK.

Have a great trip!

When staying at the Villas you check in at the same place as the lodge. You do use the same amenities as the lodge and there is also a quiet pool for use at the villas. The boat service has always been great for us. I know they added bus service to the MK (assume they are still doing that but don't know for sure). We have also taken the boat to CR before...boy, is that convenient for dinner at Chef Mickey's.:thumbsup2 The views at the lodge are pretty much all woods, although some do have a quiet pool view if I remember correctly. From the upper floors you can possibly see the lake through the trees. All in all, the views are not spectacular like at BWV, but the lodge is by far my all time favorite!

Enjoy your stay.

We found the location of WLV made using the busses easier to MK & faster. WLV are my favorite DVC resort.

My FIL and MIL stayed with us at VML and then with my BIL at WL and they told us that the difference was night and day as far as the rooms. They missed the space that we had in our 2BR villa as opposed to their adjoining rooms. :confused3

The amenities are the same...it is the rooms that are different. We love VWL as far as the rooms. As a previous poster mentioned the views are not so much...but the actual villas are great.

Enjoy your trip! :woohoo:

We stayed at VWL last November with MIL, FIL, BIL, SIL. We found it very quiet, and we had a view of the gardens/quiet pool from our balcony. MIL and FIL really enjoyed spending their mornings out their with their tea/coffee listening to the birds. I think if you like quiet, the VWL is an excellent choice, and the boat ride back from MK in the evening was relaxing (although a bit crowded).
