difference between a deluxe studio and a value studio at AKL?

Hi!

Wondering what differences to expect between these two studios? Do you get any additional amenities or better views with the deluxe? Are the studios larger or sleep more?

Oh, and do DVC members staying in AKL Jambo have access to the CL?

value studios are three feet shorter, so they only sleep four people instead of five. Value studio views vary, and they don't take requests. With standard or savanna studios, you get the view you book. You only have club access if you book a club level room. There are only five club level rooms, making them very difficult to reserve.

When DVD converted the 5th floor of AKL to DVC they moved walls around and ended up with some smaller studios. Those are the value studios.

The Value studios are 3 feet shorter and are located along the Giraffe and Ostrich trails in Jambo House, the trails that run to the right and left of the main entrance. The possible views are pool view or an alcove of the Sunset Savanna or the parking lot. Fortunately only a couple of the Value studios face the parking lot but since the Value booking category is always fully booked, somebody is going to get that view. Fortunately it is mostly a view of vegetation.

Because the Value studios are shorter, you don't get the little storage bench which is unfortunate since storage in the studio is already tight (the pack'n'play takes up half the dresser space). Otherwise the furnishings are the same, just crammed together more tightly. Occupancy is the same for all studios at AKV: four plus a child under the age of 3.

If you want access to the CL you have to (try to) book a Club Level room. There are five 2BR lockoffs in Club Level and those rooms book up very quickly, especially if you want a studio.

The reason the Value rooms (studios, 1BRs, 2BR lockoffs) are shorter is because these villas were created from Standard size AKL hotel rooms. The rest of the DVC rooms in Jambo House are converted Deluxe size AKL hotel rooms. The Deluxe rooms were longer and slept five (they had a day bed).

And as far as views, although most value studiios have a pool view, I've had some beautiful savannah views from value studios.
