So, I have just been diag. w/PCOS=IRS which means that my body can not regulate insulin as it should.:sad2: Even though I am on meds. I need to maintain a low carb-low sugar diet. My question is how am I going to do this in WDW? Will they make subsitutions for me?

Thanks.

My Dd is type 1 diabetic and we have been 2 times since she has been diagnosed. I am not familiar with your diagnosis but I can give your some pointers on a low carb diet in WDW. When you make an ADR make sure you note that you have this and need a low carb meal. The chef will come out and discuss with you what can be done for you. They have always been very nice about it. One thing to stay away from is sugar free desserts ( unless its the jello). Sugar free means they did not add any refined sugar but the items may have sugar alcohols or fruit juice to sweeten it. I have found that these items have just as many carbs as a regular dessert and you would be better off eating part of a regular dessert than eating the sugar free ones ( some fo the alcohols can be BAD to your digestive process... )
Do you have to test your sugar? YOu may be able to eat a little more than normal because the heat and the walking wil often affect your sugar levels.
DD was on a very strict diet the first time we went and had to stay in a pretty low carb amount. We found cheese in our food court that she ate for snacks and she did the trick of getting a burger with no bun so she could eat the fries..
It just takes some figuring out but there are lots of options for you. We made it thru alive... twice! and we are going abck in 25 days!!!

Thanks! It is similar to diabetic and in fact they have have put me on Metformin. I do not have to test my sugar which is good and I do have a bit of a leeway. However, I need to be pretty good cause otherwise it leads to serious health probs.

I've already made my ADRs so I will give them a ring! Thanks again I was worried.
