Hello, next April we will be traveling with my parents, and my dad who has had Juvenile Diabetes for 50+ years, now is starting to have problems with his kidneys. He has recently started seeing a Nutritionist and has to limit most importantly salt and protein, and some other minor things with his diet. Is it possible to order at both TS and CS restaurants and ask for NO salt in the meals? I am learning more and more about his restrictions and so many things are cooked with salt or are preserved with salt, etc... My main question is are we going to be able to be helped with these diet limitations? I would love for the meal portion of our trip to be a little easier, we will be bringing with some foods that are staples for him but would like to enjoy eating in some new places too! Thank you!!!!
Contact Special Diets: specialdiets@disneyworld.com. Let them know about your Dad's dietary restrictions. They'll email you a form to fill out. The TS should be able to accomodate your requests, but CS could be a bit dicey. Most of the CS food is standard fast-food fare and they aren't really equipped to prepare off menu items. Sunshine Seasons at EPCOT might be your best bet for healthier CS options. Disney does a great job handling dietary restrictions. Your Dad will be in good hands.
If you click on where it says "disABILTIES" at the top of this page it will take you to the Index. One of the top items is the "disABILTIES FAQ" which will gives lots of useful information. Post #3 there will probably be of best use for you, look at both Diabetes and Dietary Restrictions.

Thank you both for giving me GREAT places to start!! He's new to this diet too so anything I can do to help him will make our vacation more enjoyable! I wanted to get a little head-start so by next spring we were all set to go! Thanks for the advice to get started!
