HELP!!! I have another question..YEs , hubby and I are dieting currently, trying to cut our Portions....Laugh as you may lol......We paid for the dining for our Oct 27 trip, before we began dieting !! Hubby is doing great and has lost 7 lbs so far .....

BUT OMG< i have been reading reports and they give you SOOOOO much food......NOW, im wondering if we will waste the dining plan/not use all the credits....arghhhh ...

Ok, we are NOt huge bfast eaters, small lunch, small dinners and small snack in between...HELP :confused3 can we really Diet and Still make this DDP worth the money we now spent on it???

( trip will be HUBBY and I only, kids are staying home with grammie!!!)

I'm dieting too. and I am going to disney 3 times befor the end of September. I figure I will just order what I want and just eat part of it. I know it's wasteful, but then you won't be going crazy. Just take a few bites to really enjoy it and you will get it out of your system. Otherwise if you think you cann't do that cancel your dining plan. Good luck.

Last year DH was trying to lose weight and get his cholesterol under control... he did ok on the DP. Was able to hold his ground. We did a ton of walking so we were burning more. We also ate at some of the 2TS places, which seem to give more reasonable sized portions and use up credits. Also we did not use all of our CS credits.

I few things Dh did:
Ask for carrots instead of fries. Try the sugar free desserts with your CS (the yummy TS desserts tend to be small portions). Choose salads for starters. Don't try to clean your plate. Drink lots of water.

I did not try to diet, and I ate what I wanted when I wanted it mostly. Still I did not gain any on the trip. I must have walked off all those extra calories.

Also, if it makes you feel better- you can still break even on the DP if you either order no desserts, or don't use all your snack/CS credits. So don't feel like it is a waste of money even if you don't eat everything.

My policy is to live it up on vacation. The other 358 days of the year I can watch what I eat.

Exactly! Thats what I am doing! I have been dieting for almost a year now 70 pounds down and 7 more to go! I think your DH should stick to his diet right up until you check into the resort then let him reward himself, heck he's on vacation!
Maybe another option would be to watch what he eats at the CS places try to get healthier options and then eat what he wants at the TS places. Also all that walking will defanitely help!

I'm also on a diet. I've been on a low fat diet (no more than 20grams a day) for since May and I have lost about 25 lbs. I'm on the DDP and I am trying to find a way to justify eating 2 desserts a day! However, I really enjoy food, and since I have done very well on my diet, I think I will treat myself!

We are dieting too. We've talked about it and what we are going to do is.

Not order dessert unless we can get fruit or sugar free items.
Try to do more salads

when we are full - we are full - not eat everything on our plate regardless. I've worked hard to be where i'm at and I don't want to blow it completely! Some people talk about gaining ten pounds in a week and I would seriously cry if I did that considering how hard it is for me to lose ten pounds. I'm not going to be super duper strict since i'm on vacation and i'll be getting plenty of excersie by walking the parks but i'm going with the mind set that i'm not going to be a piggy and order everything from appitiser to dessert just because well i'm on the dinning plan. But that is just me. I'm not worried about not getting every appitiser or dessert because it comes with my free dinning plan.

I think we can eat pretty healthy if we try!

Order a dessert that you really want. Eat a few bites and then poor salt on the rest so you are not tempted to eat any more. That way you won't be craving sweets all trip

Salt? thats just... so so sooo wrongggg :guilty: :rotfl2:

How about asking about ordering fruit for desert? doesn't hurt to try.

My DH is watching what he eats too, he's lost 35 pounds so far in just a few months. He plans on indulging- it is vacation after all, but within reason, and for the rest of the meals he's going to make a point to have lots of salad and lean protein and nothing fried. He's also bringing his running shoes and shorts so that in the morning he can get up and run around the lake at Pop Century. Yes, I know, you do lots of walking thoughout the day, but it is not the same as the intense burn you'll get from exercising like that. So that could be another option- be sure to build in time in the morning or evening for power walking or maybe for swimming laps- that should help, and then you don't have to feel guilty if you want a little something. Congrats on the weight loss :thumbsup2
