Wait til you see the annual passholder increases that are effective IMMEDIATELY. We have two passes that expire on Sunday. Had the guys look and, yep, the increase is there. We've had some form of annual passes since the 1990's and have never seen an increase effective the day it was announced. At least I get to cancel two December reservations after finding a better deal in Disney Springs with the onsite perks and just as close to the parks as Pop Century.

You're overreacting (insert winking smilie here)...they just wanted to go to nice round numbers for easier math for everyone.

I will not be renewing my AP that expires next month.

ETA: I did break my rule of only having one AP at a time & I bought an AP for Universal Studios Hollywood earlier this year and I have to say I'm not disappointed. The Journey ride, Minions ride & Panda rides are technological marvels. I thought they've nailed the sweet treats offerings over WDW. The new night projection show with use of drones was also better than what Disney puts out. I talked with DH last night and maybe its time we explore USO, if we should find ourselves back FL way anytime soon. He always says 'let your feet do the talking.' Its been roughly 15 years since we've been there. Maybe time to try their resorts, water parks, & restaurants?

ETAA: I feel I've 'just made it' on so many of their price increases. We did BOG dinner just before they did the Prix fixe dinner. We booked Rose & Crown and dined on the patio & watched Illuminations, now moving to a Prix fixe dinner at $85/head. I took my kids to a dessert party, that now is priced out of family range, I booked it on a solo trip as a birthday gift to myself.

Disney is really outpricing themselves out of the market in terms of family vacations. I'm glad that we planned a summer trip this year because we aren't going back again for a long time. I grew up going to Disney over and over again. Wanted to share that same experience with my kids, but it's getting to just be too expensive. Hotel prices, ticket prices, parking prices----it adds up too fast. My salary can't keep up with these Disney price increases anymore.

IDK...I mean comparatively speaking APs will still cost us less than purchasing separate PHs for 2 or more trips each year.

And a $1 increase in parking fees is hardly "gouging"

I don't think everyone would care so much about the parking going up a $1 except for the fact that just two years ago resort parking was free. This piled on top of APs going up, tickets going up, resorts for 2020 going up (values are basically moderate pricing at this point!)....it's all too much.

I guess "gouging" is how you look at it. You look at it as $1 - $2 more per day and I look at the total of $15-$20-$25 per day. Especially at value and Mod resorts that have a ton of parking spots and the fee to park there vs resort cost(room per night) is a higher % than at the Deluxe resorts which are the ones with the more crowded parking.
We have had APs for 14 years and to give a little history, the brake even point has gone up from an AP equaling a 6 day pass to now, closer to 15 days.

There is NO WAY, even your way, that I consider $1-$2 increases gouging.
I still consider the fact that there ARE parking fees to be gouging, considering one of the major perks to Disney hotels used to be that they didn't nickel and dime despite costing more, and considering they certainly aren't hurting for space like other destinations that often have parking fees.

Like most Resorts? Like the Swan and Dolphin for years?

The nickel and diming bothers me too.

We drive to WDW, so there is no way for us to get around paying for parking. We rented a condo offsite on our 2018 trip and will do the same from now on. We do still have to pay for parking at the parks, but it was easier to swallow somehow. Maybe because we paid roughly $105/night (including taxes and such, $950 all in for 9 nights) for a 3-bedroom 2 bathroom condo.

If you look at the big picture, not that Disney is gouging, what they’re trying to do is cut down the use of personal and rented cars to minimize the ever growing traffic on the property. They want people using Magical Express and the on-site transportation system. The parking charge is basically Disney’s way of telling you they don’t want you driving on property. It’s most likely the reason too that Magical Express is still free.

While they do fluctuate, Swan and Dolphin are usually priced much, much lower than their Disney Deluxe counterparts. And as far as "most" resorts, it depends on the destination. Some destinations yes, some no. Many of the destinations that do tend to have parking fees have limited space, space is something Disney is definitely not lacking.

When you look at the increase for the value resorts, it is a 15% increase in less than 2 years, for a newly created fee when there is plenty of space available, as PP mentioned - whether you call it gouging or nickel and diming, it is disappointing.:worried: Especially when as bigbabyblues mentions you are already paying more for a small room that at least used to include free parking, more EMH hours, 60 day FP for onsite guests(now diluted as offered to more offiste hotels).

Disney is getting a bit out of control with everything. The increase on annual passes are nuts. We had been considering buying them again, but now I don’t want to or will get the Silver option or just wait for a Florida resident deal. I hated when they started charging for parking, which isn’t even that long ago so it does seem crazy they are already raising prices. So it’s just going to go up every year? All of this is making me want to take a long break from Disney, which to me is crazy I’ve been going almost every other weekend for the last couple years.
