Didn't get a code? CALL!!!

Hi fellow DIS'ers...

We had ASMo booked 7/27-8/2. We are NOT AP holders or FL residents.

I never get email or postcard codes. Ever.

So I called just now (5/17, 11:30am central time) and asked CRO to check my name for a PIN code. "America" told me that she can't do that. If I have a code, I'll receive it via email or snail mail. Hmm, I thought. I know I've read other DIS'ers posts about some reps being more willing to check stuff.

So, I called right back and got "Eden". She searched and FOUND A CODE for me to use!! Here's my deal:

We were staying at ASMo for $2878 (Me, DH DS12 DS8) Preferred Room, Basic DDP, PH, Water Parks and More. That's the non-discounted deal. We could have kept our room there and dropped the price to $2833. Ooh Ahh a whopping $40 savings. So I had her check POFQ. She got us a standard room and brought our total package up to $3086 ($208 more that ASMo).

I priced the same POFQ package on the website and we are saving nearly $400 off the non-discounted package price.

So, here's my advice:

1) If you never receive a PIN code, ask if you have one attached to your name.
2) If a CM refuses to check, hang up and call again

I did inquire about AKL and WL, but nothing avail at AKL (std) and WL was too rich for our blood.

I totally agree! Last year I called to book our November trip, and the CM actually informed me that I had a code - 40% off, too! Boy, was I glad I had decided to call! I had not received an email or snail mail offer - and I check closely, believe me.

I received a code this year, too (only 20% off though ) but I did get this one by email. Point is, you never know - call and check!

I've been meaning to post but i called earlier and didnt have anything. Does it seem like less codes are coming out? DH had one attached to his name back in feb/apr but i never did but not for our dates. If the $1.00 is strong in other countries i wonder if that means we in us will get less codes

Hi Fellow Disney Fans,
This is my first time using this website. I've been to Disney at least 50 times and never knew some of these things existed.

My question is about these codes. Are they good only when you book a package? My sister is booking our hotel with her Vacation Club points so I'm not sure if I can call to find out about one of these discount codes. Do you already have to have some type of reservation for them to search on your name or would my name be there b/c we've been so many times?

Welcome to the DIS

If you are using DVC points to reserve a room, then there is no need (or way) to get any further discounts.

You can add the Dining Plans to your ressie but there are no discounts on this for anyone.

You can order your tickets through Disney or through other providers at a slight discount.

I just called to see if I had anything attached to my name and had a 30% off code that expires in 3 days. Much as I would have loved that I can't get a trip planned in 3 days. The CM was very nice and told me to call back in a month or two for Oct. I'll do that, no harm in trying. Without DIS boards I would have never known to check.

I have called and called every few days and no pin or code for me. I give up. I guess it was not meant to be.

What number do you call to get a PIN code?

There's not a number to call to receive a pin code. It's just the reg. Disney number and you can ask if you have a pin code under your name, household, etc. The codes are very random and are hard to come by. It is all handled by the marketing dept. Hope this helps.

Congrats on the codes, I would advise though that the very person who helped you could get in trouble by you sharing thier name on this forum. Just a heads up.

Yes....I think we aren't allowed to post names of CM's we have spoken with, whether having a positive or negative experience. Anything though can be shared with Guest Communications though!---Kathy

I booked a room at CSR for October 2008 and went ahead and paid the whole thing off. If I call and there is a code attached to my name, will I still be able to use it and get some sort of refund? Or is it pointless to call since the room is already paid for? Thanks!

I have called twice and was told both times that the system has changed and that I have to give them the code. I was told that they can not look this up. Any suggestions? I already have ressies for Oct 7-12, but a better deal is always nice. Thanks for any help.

I got a 40% off pin. I didn't however, ever receive the the email or postcard The pin number is on my reservation but I don't understand where the actual postcard offer went?

I does pay to call. CM found me the code without me asking. He just asked if I were flexible in my dates. I said yes and he said "We have these dates available a week later then what you were planning at 40% !

Of course I jumped at it!

So call and call again!

I wanted to extend my trip by one day and was told no by one CM but the next one was able to do it with no problem. I'm glad I called, it saved me $1500 dollars.

Isn't it nice to get to catch a break? We got the offer last year (40%) so I am considering myself lucky and think next year I'll be disappointed! I guess I shouldn't be too greedy!

Yeah, I didn't know how lucky I was until I started reading these boards and realized that there are people who have been going for years and haven't gotten 40% off.....I am spoiled now!

I like some think it is unfair the way they are given out. I have received the 40% offer for the last two years. Last year we were even able to use it over Christmas and got our room for $49 a night from Dec 18th- Jan 1st!

This year I got the room for $56 preferred Movies from Dec 7th- 15th and then POFQ for $89 nightly from Dec 15th- Dec 18th....

Everyone should have a chance at such a wonderful gift! Enjoy your trip!!!
