didja c - new for sizzlets...

Ok, blonde moment, but I don't get it. What does it do?

I actually got to see this when I was at Memory Trends last week. The demonstration made it look so simple. I just wonder if it will cut shapes better. (I have trouble with several of my sizzlets, getting them to actually cut all the way through the paper. I usually have to finish up with scissors which is so frustrating that I tend not to use these dies much. I especially hate the letters. :( ) I wish I'd had time to talk more to the representative at the booth, but I had to get back to the one I was working and didn't have a chance to go back.

Patty I saw that too! Definately peaks my interest! If it comes to Mike's with a coupon I don't know if I will be able to not buy it!

RRBB -
do you need a new pad on your sizzix?
Have you tried slipping a piece of paper between the pad and the bottom...

What kind of paper bazzil??

Sometimes I have a little bit harder time with the bazzil - but I found by putting the paper between the pad and the bottom it makes it cut through that paper -
but I never have problems with regular paper.

Did the site even say how much it will be Spinning? I didn't see it - hopefully it will be worth it with the coupon! Imagine not having to pull down that big dang handle- ;)

WDW Aurura - it is for sizzlets letters by sizzix die cuts - it is smaller and looks easier to handle..

So it' s like a sizzix but smaller and cheaper? Or am I totally not getting it?

I've tried all kinds of things to get the dies to cut through. I've got a new cutting pad; I've tried adding not just a piece of paper for shim but a thin cardboard; I've used all different types of cardstock but usually it's just a smooth surfaced type.

I think I've just gotten some bad dies where the blades aren't sharp enough. It's just so frustrating, and with those little letters a pain to constantly be taking out my scissors to finish the job. (Maybe one day I'll find the patience to actually figure out how to make them work. Yeah, right. )

On a brighter note, if I remember correctly the woman I spoke to at MT said that you'll be able to use other mfgr's dies - like QK - in this little machine, too.

In November, the much–anticipated Sizzix Sidekick will be ready to order right here at sizzix.com, or ask for it at your favorite scrapbook store. Fitting in the palm of your hand, the Sidekick is exactly what you’ve been waiting for – a portable, affordable and adorable crafting system designed for detailed die–cutting with all Sizzlits, and quick, quality embossing from specially formatted Sidekick Embossing Folders. At $49.99, the Starter Kit features the Sidekick, two Sizzlits, five strips of 2 1/4" x 7" printed paper and project instructions to create a combination of dazzling designs. And look out this Winter for the first–ever selection of Sizzlits 12" Border Dies to join the Sidekick’s growing artistic arsenal.

yes it's like a sizzix machine but only for the sizzlets dies, not for the original sized dies.
