Did your 4 year old ride Soarin'?

My dd rode it too many times to count when we were there this past August and she won't turn four until this January (so she was 3yrs8months). She adored it, and talks about smelling the oranges all the time! In fact whe would lean forward a lot (scaring me, I was always telling her to sit back!). She has absolutly no fear, but I think that is an excellent ride for kids. Less scary then Snow White's Scary Adventure I think!

Have fun!

Yep my 4 yo rode it and LOVED it! He wanted to ride again, but we had the last ride of the evening, and didn't get back to epcot this trip :(
next time we will ride it a few times hopefully.
he also rode tower of terror 2 times! he is a daredevil too.

Thanks for the post- this is the one ride I've been trying to decide if DD would ride it. We're leaving in the morning.

:thumbsup2 Our 4 1/2 year old went on Soarin this past October and LOVED IT! He had a big smile on his face almost the entire time and was shouting "wow, yip yee, woo woo". He got a little scared by the loud fireworks sound at the very end. But afterward he said he liked that part. I guess he just wasn't expecting the sound to be that loud. He asked to ride it again as soon as we got off and again later in our trip!

My son was 5 when we went and he did not ride it. But he also will not ride anything else that has a height restriction with the exception of Test Track (we used a fast pass and got on so quickly he didn't realize what he was boarding) -- he has it in his mind that those rides are for big people. I'm sure he would have loved it - if I could have convinced him to ride.

My DD had just turned 4 two months before our last trip and she rode Soarin' for the first time and loved it.

I think the key is to prepare them ahead of time. We told DD that if the pictures made her motion sick, she just had to close her eyes for awhile. We also told her that there were a few loud parts, just like when you go to see a movie and it sometimes gets loud. We also warned her about the quick movement of the seats right when the ride begins. She was fine, because she knew what to expect.

I think she'll be just fine. There is nothing intense or scary in the movie at all - and there is plenty of room to reach over and hold her hand if needs be!

We took a picture of DD by the Soarin' sign and it is still one her favorite pictures. She calls it her first "big girl" ride!

My DD4 (Savannah) loved Soarin'. She had absolutely no reservations about the ride. She did ask a lot of questions and I did prepare her by letting her know what to expect.

Nope, he was too short!

.

:guilty: That is too bad.

They actually recently changed the height requirement from 44 to 40. We were so happy when our son was able to get on. He is 42. When we went in May he was just 40 and was too short. When we went back in October we found out it was changed to 40, so he was bale to get on. :woohoo:

My daughter is 5 and is afraid of many things. I took her on and asked for the bottom roe clasest to the ground. They accomodated and she did like it! It is fantastic.

Hear hear. Go for it. We rode it once last week on DS' first WDW trip - he just turned 5 this Tuesday (sob!) - and we all loved it. We didn't repeat it due to the wait though.

when my child was 4.. she loved it.. and she does not care for any of the other popular attractions like at the MK... but loves this ride!

Dd rode it at 4 1/2, when she was finally tall enough. She didn't just hate it, but she wasn't all that crazy about it.

The first time my son rode it he was 3 (a very tall 3) and my daughter was 5, and ever since they rode it, it has become their very favorite ride. No hesitations at all, they LOVE it! :cheer2:

My DD was 10 when we went in Jan; she is really drama queen- scaredy cat and she liked it; even tough she is afraid of heights! Keep in mind this is a kid whom puts her head between her legs the whole time on the Pirates ride!:lmao:

DD was 4 when she rode it, and she absolutely hated it. We went on it in 2006, and during our 2007 trip, she refused to go near the ride and became terrified when we suggested she consider it again. We learned that she's afraid of heights (something I had no idea about before). Each kid is different, and I think you probably can't predict a particular child's reaction in all cases.
