If you did, someone out there might need your help.

Here's a letter that appeared in Reminisce Magazine:

During the winter of 1963-64, I was "Alice in Wonderland" at Disneyland in Anaheim, California. I had my picture taken with hundreds of Alice fans at the Kodak Photo Spot on the bridge to the Sleeping Beauty Castle. Sadly, I neither saw nor have any photo of myself at work and in costume.

At this date, I would love to be able to show my children and grandchildren a picture of "Grandma Alice". Maybe one of your readers who visited Disneyland during that time has a picture of their child with me and would be willing to share a copy.

I'm afraid I missed her by one year(first DL trip '65). Too bad as DD is a WDW CM and works with Alice on a regular basis.:earsboy:

Bummer. I hope someone can help this lady. She posted a picture of her (sans Alice costume) from that era, and she was a very attractive girl. Probably made a lovely Alice. :)

I'm going to have to ask my dad - I know we visited Disneyland when I was 4 years old, so that would have been 1963. I'm thinking it was summer, so it might not be this woman's time frame, but I'll see if he can dig out some pictures. I hope someone can help this woman; it's a neat idea!

It sure would be something if he had one. :) I'm figuring, out of the thousands of people on the DIS, SOMEONE has to have this woman's picture. It would be the coolest thing if someone could help her out. :thumbsup2

Oddly enough, my first visit to Disneyland was in 1963--I was 6 months old. I was just watching the video of the trip the other day. No video of Alice, though.

I hope someone can get her a picture!

But that's pretty close! :)

I'm bumping this up again, as I just received an e-mail from her thanking me for posting this on the DIS. She said she's been searching for years for a picture! :)

I think it would be kind of cool to get a copy of the old picture and then get a picture of the child all grown up too. :goodvibes

You're right! :teeth:

Bumping!

When I was a WDW CM (on the international program) someone brought in a photo of me working in the shop (i hadn't even known they'd taken it!) and it is a cool memento :)

Hope she gets one,
Gaspodé

I was probably there around that time, but I wasn't in charge of the camera :)
I have stacks of old photos, but not sure when I could have time to go through them all.
I also have a VHS tape someone made that has old photos, but not sure if they are dated. I will have a look sometime when we get past the holiday.....and all the company.

I wish her luck though ::yes::

That would be great. I'm sure it would take forever to go through all that stuff, but she'd probably be happy just to know there's a tiny, tiny chance. Maybe you could send her an e-mail. :)

That is just soooo cool!

I hope someone finds a picture for her!

When I worked in Colonial Williamsburg my picture was often taken with visitors but I never asked family/friends to take one of me. Then one day a visitor brought me a picture, it was taken with a polaroid camera and it's the only picture of me in costume that I have. I didn't even know they took the picture...

So I guess you know how this lady feels. :)

yeah, kinda :)

what an experience that must have been for her

I read this yesterday, I nor my family members have ever been to Disneyland, but I just hope someone out there can help this woman. That would be a great happy ending! :thumbsup2

It really would. And I'm hoping, since I've already e-mailed her once, that she would send me one back telling me she found one. And of course, I would then tell everybody here. :)

Or if somebody here does have one and connects with her, please let us know! :)
