did you send out a NEWSLETTER?

We made our own and sent it out at about 11 months out with a save the date magnet and an early response card just so we could start getting an idea for rooms and if we needed to invite other people.

We sent out newsletters at the one year mark to let everyone know. My parents got quite a few responses to it. Many that were unexpected. Then Disney just mailed out the save the dates and people responded to that as well that had not previously responded to the newsletter. We will mail out the invitations in Sept. with a late Oct. reply date. We have to pay for everything by Nov. 11 and I don't want to add anymore people after that date. We are going to put an intinerary in the welcome bags we ordered. I have a template that Underthemistletoe gave me and it worked out wonderfully!!! PM and let me know if you'd like it. :thumbsup2 :wizard:

First, Leslie, your newsletters are fantastic! Yes, we are just about to send out our first newsletter! We made them ourselves and included a tentative response card. Our newsletter consits of a letter from us, just an introductory with some pictures and a frequently asked questions page. Just questions about the resorts, tickets, transportation, and weather! HTH

We are at almost a year out and we are sending our first nesletter with a response card similiar to the one posted above so that we can gage for our room blocks. As soon as we get our date we will send out save the date magnets followed by the Disney save the date package (which won't be sent until October when we sign our contract because we are in a convention center that is why I am doing magnets). Then close to the wedding date I will do one more reminding stragglers to book their hotels and let everyone know about wedding events!

I have been going back and forth with the idea of sending a newsletter. We are just about a year out so I need to decide soon! If anyone has any other examples of their newsletter, I would love to see it. Thanks so much :)

We are an intimate, but we still sent out a newsletter/invite to the friends and family that were going to our wedding. We sent them out at about 9 months out and then we are going to send out a second and maybe a third newsletter with more detailed information about the resorts, tickets, airfare, magical express, restaurants, advance dining reservations etc. Most of our guests have never been to Disney before, so this gives them a little bit of a heads up on how things work! HTH

We didn't send out any formal newsletters other than the ones that Disney sent out. Honestly, I knew my friends and family wouldn't read them so it didn't seem worth the extra effort. It was enough of a chore to get people to RSVP to the actual invitation!

We did send out several infomal emails to people on our guest lists though to let them know our schedule and when we would be around to vist with them both before and after the wedding. DH used these to organize his 'Buzz Light Year Space Ranger Spin Challenge' which was a HUGE hit with our guests :)

I'd be interested in seeing an hearing more about what information you included. We have been working on ours for a while now.. and go back and forth.. had a friend proof it and she said there wasn't enough info, then had his parents look at it and they said there was too much! We go over why Disney, hotel info, getting to and from the airport. That's about it. any thoughts?

I sent one out about 8 months out, i already had a rough idea of who was going. As many of my family have never been to WDW i included info on some of the parks, some details of where the wedding is going to be with a link to my wedding website through disney and details of MVMCP. My parents are paying for all of our guests to go to this as a thank you for everyone flying so far. I also included the time and date of our welcome party and some "hints" as to where it will be but no actual details yet.

we sent our own which we made. i sent save the dates with a magnet at 1 year out & then 3 newsletters one about the wedding & planned events, the 2nd was a general faq with travel info & the 3rd was a disney guide with ride info & park hours. our guests raved about the help.

Ours should go out next week. My fiance put up an online version (which is pretty much exactly the same as the print version) at http://wedding.macauley.org/ . It's mainly some basic information about the hotels, parks and the wedding and reception. We've made a few minor changes since they were printed, and since I don't feel like re-printing them, they'll be included in future newsletters. I plan on doing another one at the six month mark, and another one at three months.
