I thought this movie had its ups and downs. :rotfl2:

Actually, it was quite bizzare, and I really don't know whether I liked it or not. What did you think?

I liked it (but I'm a horror movie junkie so I'm probably not the best judge). I thought it was fairly original and it kept me interested throughout. I haven't seen the 2nd yet but I've not read good things about it so I'll just wait for the DVD.

No-I don't even know what it is about.

Did it teeter about the plot?

It is about 2 men who get held captive in a sewage treament plant. And there is psychological manipulation about getting one of them to kill the other... but here is the catch.... they are chained to opposite walls.

Think about a Hannibal Lechter type of person manipulating the two of them against each other,

I thought it was awesome and every horror thread (here as well as other boards) I've ever read has viewers raving about it. I've not seen Saw 2 though. We were going to go last week, but it didn't pan out. I'm excited to see it though.

It's definitely different and gives you a moment to reflect on, what might you do if put in that position. I especially liked (I"m a horror fan) the one where the woman had to choose whether or not to get that key. I'll leave it at that so it doesn't ruin it for others, but........what would you do?

Good Lord I don't think I could bring myself to see it! The commercials for Saw II are scary enough!! I do kind of want to see it though, but I'm not a fan of horror movies, hate them actually, just to see how "bad" it is...

I thought it was fairly good.

There was one thing I didn't like about it, if I recall correctly (stop reading if you haven't seen it and want to.....)

I found it a little unbelievable that the guy laying on the floor was alive the whole time and the two guys chained in the room never noticed he was breathing *and* the guy never moved or even flinched the whole time, giving away that he was alive. It was a surprise ending, but a bit unbelievable.

We loved Saw! DS saw Saw II yesterday and said it was just as good as the first but maybe even more suspenseful! DH and I are going Saturday night to see it. Can't wait!

I thought it was pretty decent. Yucky, but unique.

DD loves horror movies. I saw the first one with her and thought it was just ok. She made me go see the second one as well which I thought was much better.

of course i have!! I loved it!! But then again, i like really gruesom movies. I loved all the crazy insane mind games the guy makes them play. its horrible. and by horrible i mean excellent. Ive heard great things about the new one (read: gross gross things). Im seeing it Saturday! So i will tell you all about it.

I've only heard bad things about the 2nd one, like the only really "good" death scene is the very first one. Please post and let us know what you think, might have to change my mind and catch this in the theater if you think it's worthy.

I still don't know if I liked the second one. The first one would have been good if they have good actors. The second one was just too many twists, but with better acting.

The first, say half hour of it, wasn't bad.

Then as it started to get a little interesting, they totally dropped the ball. Seemed like they were more interested in cheap effects, camera tricks and music than explaining ANYTHING.

I like horror movies. I like it when movies don't explain everything to me and leave it up to my imagination to dream up....but this was a total POS. I honestly felt more stupid after seeing it, and I'm not all that sharp to begin with.

It didn't have any spiders in it...but it was NOT a movie I'd recommend to anyone, with the possible exception of potential screenwriters as "make many notations of these are things to take care to not repeat".

This is exactly what I have been hearing and why I haven't seen it yet.
