I was in the process of booking my trip.. I have always been able to mail in my deposit... well.. this lady wanted half down.. I thought that very strange.. she said well you are getting a deal on the dining and you have that disney visa so she put that down.... I think she thought I really didn't have it.. I said listen.. I do have a disney visa... I just don't know if I want to charge half of it right now... I am going to call back.. I just didn't know if she knew what she was saying to say I had to pay half of it now.... what is the policy??

Call back! It should be a $200 deposit with the balance due 45 days out.

Someone doesn't know something....the poster above states it exactly as it should be. We have never had to pay more than a $200 deposit and the rest 45 days out.

You should have only been required to put down a $200 deposit....unless you included air travel in the package...then you also have to pay for all of the air up front..

Yes a $200 deposit due at the time of booking. This isn't a Disney Visa issue, this is how Disney books their packages.

I remember mailing in a check for my deposit a few years ago. I think it just had to be there within 10 days. Did they quit doing that?

I think you can still do that, but for the free dining opened up early, they had to pay the deposit with the Disney Visa. I'm sure Chase is getting something for this FREE deal.

Because it is a special offer ONLY to Disney Visa cardholders for the first 3 days of the promotion the initial deposit was due at the time of booking. The above poster is correct about normal Walt Disney Travel Company deposit policies.

As far as the amount, were you also booking your airfare as part of the reservation? If so, payment for the air may also be due at the time of booking, depending on the type of airfare booked.

I think you would be able to mail yours in when the promotion is open to the public on 4/4.
