*If the signup response rate is low for the offers that the daily points show, we will be forced to remove one daily point.*

That's from the Daily Visit page of which only 2 pts are available unless you sign-up for the offers -- PhoneHog 25pts and Free Gift Central 100 pts.

I'm thinking the signup response rate could be low for any number of reasons -- not interested in those sites, already signed up (one time only offers) ...

At 2 pts a day or worse yet, 1 point a day, it will take years to reach a cash out level. 2100 pts divided by 2 points a day = 1050 days = 3 years.

Maybe they're just going through a rough spot and things will (hopefully) turn around.

This was Chris' response to a similar observation and question in the CR forums:

Hi,
Currently, the banners on the daily page do not pay us per click. They pay per signup only. If not enough members are signing up for some of the easy signup offers, we will remove one of the banners. If you knew anyone who would be interested in advertising their website with us as a clickthrough on the visits page, we are open to advertisers. We realize the visits are the primary part of the site everyone enjoys doing, and we try our best to have sponsors in this section. Some users think that we will close because of the removal of Smartpages, but this is not true. We will be online for business until at least 2004. If you have any further questions, you can reply here or send me an Email.

I read that too :( I'm hoping that we get more daily points soon ... I noticed that things on CTTM have picked up. There are lots more dailies :p

I would think that most Reward programs would try to get sponsers who pay for clicks and not sign ups...or have sign ups as an added bonus for their payment...CR takes long enough now to cash out without taking away more points!!

Fortunately for me, I don't rely on daily visits for my points... I earn via shopping points.. and CR is a great one for that!

Well, I did sign up for Phone Hog - it's free, but the other one is offers just like the ones on the portal. I have no interest in that. I do use the shopping for points, so that helps!
