Did you know that our WOD Concierge choices are limited?

I used WOD, I don't know if they are still using "World Of Disney" for the WDW hotels.

I had to use those points from the canceled GV stay, I made a reservation for Poly concierge. Poly was my last choice. I wanted monorail, I asked for GF first, Cont, second and Poly last. Poly had the only availability.....some may remember me commenting on that.

I called yesterday to see if there were any changes in availabilty for the other hotels. It turns out that there are no concierge rooms available for points at the Cont and the rooms are very limited at the GF....my first call led me to believe that Cont roms would be available, but were full.

First off Rich, if you consult the point charts, you will see that concierge at the Contemporary isn't offered. I don't understand why either, it makes no sense to me. At the GF, I can tell you that DVC uses points to book main building regular concierge rooms. There are only 20 - 25 of those in the main building. There are also a small number of deluxe concierge rooms(larger regular room), but those aren't available to DVC for booking. Also, Sugar Loaf Concierge at the GF isn't available, yet again, I don't know why?? There are many more rooms in that category. My guess is that DVC, when negotiating for point stays at WDW, only gets room categories that they feel will be booked by DVC members. Now, I have used points for the RPC at the GF and I thought it was a complete waste of points. The concierge at the GF was SERIOUSLY inferior from my stay at the Poly, and I wouldn't stay RPC at the GF again, even if I won the lottery!!!! I'd definately choose another place, probably the Boardwalk or the Beach Club, both of which are unavailable to us DVC'ers since they also have DVC resorts. Hey, I 'd like to see DVC offer some of those sumptious suites up for point rental, it would be interesting how much the Roy Disney Suite would run!!!!

I am glad to hear that you enjoyed the Poly. After my AKL concerge stay, I can't imagine anything measuring up to that.

I have to open up this cabnet, get down on my knees and move all kinds of stuff to get my guidebook. I should have the .pdf on my desktop, I don't. I was surprised that the answer I got the day I made the ressie about the COnt was so different than the one I got yesterday....I know, I should have known form the guidebook, but I really didn't know that some were available and some weren't.

You guys have perfect timing.
Hubby and I were just wondering last night what resorts we could stay at (w/DVC) in a concierge room.

I have to admit the Contemp. would have been my first pick. But the Poly is a close second. I hope you have a great stay.

Thanks.

In a couple of weeks we are burning tons of points to stay at the Yacht club concierge over a 3 day weekend. All I can say so far is that I got a phone call from the Yacht club a couple of weeks ago asking what they could do to help make my vacation more magical. I asked them to make me some dinner reservations at Epcot and the Studios...and told them to surprise me:).....They are also selling me a special park hopper nor normally available to the general public.

I'm happy so far!

When you find out what "special" means,be sure to let us know. This is the first I've ever heard the term "special park hopper".

Do I understand it correctly, that Disney 'reserves' so many conceirge rooms at Poly etc that we can book with points? Are these specific rooms on specific floors, or just a number of rooms that are allocated on arrival? Does this work the same way for rooms at the WDW hotels that are not conceirge? Just interested!
